The Impact Played Like a True Champion and Worthy MLS Representative

They fought their way into the CONCACHAMPIONS League finals with desires to win it all, as well write history as the first Canadian squad to do such feat and try to be the third squad in Major League Soccer since its twenty year inception.

the unfortunate side for Frank Klopas is after a nice result in a draw at Mexico City Azteca Stadium, were Mexican squads are supposed to be invincible, their biggest loss was starting goalkeeper Evan Bush who got suspended by accumulation of cards.

Very well seeing an immediate opening of the hostilities in the eight minute with the Andean combination of Ignacio Piatti and Andres Romero who this latter one opened the score to the delirium of the Gars fans in Stade Olympique.

Filled to its maximum capacity and its Ultras followers awaiting for the ultimate of miracles, their representative was one worthy opponent as well an awesome representative of Major League Soccer, in this events known to be dominated by Mexican and Central American squad’s.

By seeing a determined and ambitious Impact squad eliminating giants in its way to the finals and with Costa Rican powerhouse and CCL  squad considered as important in Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, the Gars of the Montreal Impact who were so close and yet so far of the achievement.

As many have seen a sudden growth in American Soccer especially in this league and in the National squad levels, being Team USA the new giant of CONCACAF as well a dominant of national squad’s in the region.

Major League Soccer squads are almost on the verge of emulating the Stars and Stripes squad as we saw tonight with a belligerent and ambitious Impact that never ceased to quit or give up in their desires to lift the trophy and became a representative in Japan’s World Cup of Clubs.

Their unfortunate side was a possessed Dario Benedetto who was the hero with three goals in the 50’, 66’ and 81’ alongside Oribe Peralta who contributed in the 64’ for the final score of 4-2 and a global of 5-3 overall.

Still the Impact substitute in Jack McInerney, who replaced Marco Donadel on the 67’ minute, saw his efforts coming short after scoring in the 89’ minute the honor goal in what seems a match filled with a lot of yellow cards from both sides.

One thing the Impact didn’t count on Mexico’s Club America was its experience in tournaments like this and to play with loads of pressure is one thing already dominated by this Mexican sqaud and added on to their repertoires to the final score.

The local Impact defensive side couldn’t contain or decipher a team America frontal attack that really gave a lot of satisfactions and pleasure to its Boss Gustavo Matosas who got his efforts rewarded as well his strategies falling into place.

At the end I do congratulate the lads of Club America for their efforts and never giving back as well for the Montreal Impact their all-around resolution and determination to reach into these levels was one major achievement in this club history.

Allez Impact for your one and only performance that made your followers from the City of Mary, dream of a possible shield that could adorn the halls of Saputo Stadium, maybe next time you never know and now focus on the league remaining matches, well done!

“From CCR to Azteca, always faithful.”
