Without incurring
into the minimum of efforts, the Blues of Waterford Youths FC have been crown
league of Ireland first division champions as well earning their promotion to
the big circuit of the Premier league.
For manager Alan
Reynolds recent set of achievements, it is time to celebrate but at the same
time to regroup his side and look into next campaigns all around challenges the
recent promotion his squad netted.
Especially with the
high levels of competition, the Airtricity League of Ireland offers.
The outlook for him
and his Blues does not look easy but not difficult, as this squad is up and
ready to deliver many memorable afternoons in the top level and the aims are to
see a continuance in it for a long time.
Sounds easy than
said, but the way Reynolds and company played this campaign was well worthy of
their recent achievements and with two games left in the campaign, up in
Waterford Regional Sports Centre it is time to celebrate.
Their win last Friday
at Ferrycarrig playing against a resilient Wexford Youths FC and beating them
to a 3-0 with scores from Mark O’ Sullivan with a double in the 24 and 44 plus
the go-ahead goal from John Martin in the 76.
Very well with the loss
of Cobh Ramblers to Cabinteely became the icing on the cake for the Blues.
Waterford will have
to close its campaign with two games left, playing their last one at home against
Longford
Town at the RSC and going to Cork County to close the campaign in St. Colman’s
Park to face off their archrivals Cobh Ramblers.
As the Blues top
players in Kenny Browne its captain, Lee Power and Pat Fenlon are between the
weapons manager Reynolds counts with and the need of more firepower to maintain
the level of competition in the Premier division.
Will be considered a
must do option for this club agenda before their next preseason and for its
Boss to count with the necessary reinforcements to make a spectacular campaign
in the top.
For now the only thing,
which Alan Reynolds and company should focus is on the upcoming league matches and
later on the beginning of the year look forward to reinforce his squad to
challenge the likes of Cork City, Dundalk, Derry City and Shamrock Rovers.
A big round for the
Boys of the Cumann Peile Phort Láirge for their recent achievements as well
celebrate loudly this coming weekend on thier match agasint Longford Town their
one of a kind coronation.
