This time the merry for West Brom Albion

For Tony Polis and his Baggies, last campaign saw an all-around improvement in his squad, and by pushing for the top spots looking for their utmost dream of seizing a European position.

At the end, the Albion Boys settled for a 10th, place finish, and their international goal put on hold.

As Tony Polis has a mission and a compromise to the thousands of followers at the Hawthorns, in this preseason, his ambitions are beyond perfection to prepare his squad to front a challenging and disputed Premiership.

With a busy schedule and a tough one to face foes in the likes of Slavia Prague, then to Hong Kong in the PL Asia Trophy to face off Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

Then with friendliest against Walsall, Burton Albion, Bristol Rovers, Slough Town, Kidderminster, Port Vale and Deportivo La Coruña at Riazor, the Throstles will close a very busy and hectic preseason.

The friendlies in Asia and Austria will be a window for Pulis to observe this squad academy prospects and giving them the big opportunity in the big club roster at the beginning of this campaign.

For a club like Albion with its coffers not so prolific as the big squads, these will have to settle for young talent and see if they can get a player or two in the transfers market to reinforce many areas of need.

Still the lack of a creative midfield and reinforcing their defensive backfield and getting a fearless striker or two will be one of the agendas of this club front office as this club ideal and big deal to a successful campaign.

Followed by August opening at home against AFC Bournemouth, following a visit to Turf Moor to play Burnley and returning home to play Stoke City, this schedule looks a bit tempting for a strong and notable start.

Still the man from Wales does not count his chickens before they hatch and he will be playing every rival and game with the most cautious and conservative approach as well looking forward to a much better step – up in the table.

The arrival of Jay Rodriguez from Southampton rises up this squad frontal attack with the need of another player of the likes of the former Saint, a couple of young prospects in Yuning Zhang- Vitesse Arnhem and Ben Pierce.

Another problem for manager Pulis are the so call international calls, with  James McClean- Republic of Ireland, Jonny Evans, Gareth McAuley and Chris Brunt- North Ireland, Jake Livermore- England.

Others like James Morrison- England, Scotland, Hal Robson Kane—Wales Solomon Rondon- Venezuela and Nacer Chadli- Belgium.

All of these the heart of Tony Polis initial eleven, the Welshman will have to juggle in his lineup as well make miracles happen to deliver with his squad in lieu of their nine absences.

One for sure this squad shall overcome and make a good run in this edition of EPL, a good campaign for this squad can deliver a notable sixth to eight position and a little luck a coveted European spot.

However, for Tony Polis the opportunity to nab a player or two to reinforce many critical areas in his eleven is still game on as well this club betting on young players availability in the immediate run will be one of their utmost objectives.
