Its doesn’t come easy
for the Portland Timers lads, after an overachieving win at difficult Rio Tinto
Stadium, with just one simple play how things if not a game can change for the
best of the bad.
I mean the bad for the
locals in RSL seeing their efforts going down the tubes after a controversial play
over Timbers forward Lucas Melano going down in the area- for a penal that
became the difference maker for the visiting Timbers.
That play was enough
for the Timbers front man Faneando Adu to mark the lone and go ahead goal that
gave the PTFC a valuable win and gives hopes to the Rose City chaps to assure their
pass to the Western Conference postseason.
Still for Manager
Caleb Porter is a do or die situation after seeing a resilient and persistent
Quakes squad netting a valuable win at home over difficult SKC and by
percentage the Silicon Valley chaps sit atop sixth place.
By just a hair as
many will state the Timbers and San Jose are battling a duel to the end, as for
the Quakes next league compromise will be against a top rated Dallas FC and for
the Portland squad against LA Galaxy at Stub Hub Center and closing at home
with Colorado.
Time will be their best
ally, as nothing is written in the way of sports as well no one can underestimate
its foe and for the PTFC they indeed can score a big win against a star studded
Galaxy that will have its full armada on the eve of this compromise.
And for the Timbers
will indeed be inspired in its initial eleven seeking their pass to the coveted
postseason and trying to shake off the annoyances of that San Jose squad trying
to prevent them in their quest, a draw will give Portland the a slight
advantage by a point.
A win off course will
seal the deal in a very convincing way and by defeating a squad known for its beautiful
and spectacular game in this American version of the Galacticos, nothing is
written until its written!
The Portland Timbers
destinies can very well be wrapped up with a win at Tinsel Town and uncork the
champagne for the overall achievement and sealing their pass of the second time
under the Caleb Porter tenure.
For now the Timbers undoubtedly
will use the win at RSL as a total motivation and injection of optimism going
at Carson, California on the eve of their compromise.
With that type of
game and performance’s the Timbers already shook one obstacle out of the way
and this weekend they can do the ultimate of feats by doing the impossible and
beating a belligerent LA Galaxy squad.
This is it for Rose City as destiny waits for them
to turn the tides in their favor and clinch their pass to the grand fete of the
playoffs in Major League Soccer; the almighty PTFC can do it, believe me my
friends!
