The Manchester of Yesterday’s Champions Glories is Back Again

The Red Devils are back and with a winning conviction in a familiar tourney that inscribed many memories for the Trafford chaps past and once again are reviving them with a convincing win.

A second of Champions compromises for Manager Van Gaal and his chaps seeking to erase that bad memory back at PSV after that horrible loss in the field and Luke Shaw too after a hard play on him.

But today’s match despite the score of one goal difference the Manu chaps are back and playing like in the old days of Champions glories with a brilliant win over a hardened Wolfsburg squad determined to play the role of spoiler today.

Not in our house after an early goal in the 4th minute courtesy of the visiting Bundesliga visitors, then came a United reaction and sealing the deal with a the tying goal in the 34th via a PK charged by Mata.

Still this match was a fighting event were both squad’s never relinquished the ball and for United thoughts, that after playing as locals they were going to rout the visiting squad with an array of goals.

With a couple of yellows cards being the down for the Red Devils on Schneiderlin, Memphis, Young and Schwansteiger, the locals netted eleven shoots and four on target as well dominating in overall possession with a total of sixty one minutes.

Really, the Red Devils were tied and until Smalling came out with a nice shoot that gave the locals the lead for a 2-1 win and scoring the go ahead goal that proved decisive for the Trafford chaps on the 54th minute.

So far with this win their assurance of advancing to the next rounds depends on a visit to CSKA Moscow who beat PSV Eindhoven and Manu has to play as a visiting entity at Russia.

Three points of gold that sure were good news for the Red Devils Boss Louis van Gaal and keeps a tied tally on Group B were all of its squads are locked up and with upcoming matches were anything can happen and for sure a win at Moscow will be the highlight.

And one shoot of optimism in this tourney for the Manchester chaps that really came out to play and show its mettle, despite the misses and possible win with more goals, still this squad is ready to make all sorts of noise in this edition of Champions League.

One match at a time for the Dutch Manager that finally saw his moves paying off and really seeing the results desired and seeing in his initial eleven a much dedicated and determined squad seeking to revive old glories of grandeur championships in Europe!
