Forget Premiership its Champions League what Rainieri wants

The Emperor Claudio Rainieri is one defiant chap once again, after his squad is showing off a perfect record of three consecutive wins in the always prestigious and paramount of tourneys, the Champions League.

So far, in this edition of Premiership, the defending City champions are not looking as sharp as they did in their fairy tale of a campaign that brought the attentions of many in the soccer world, of an underdog winning the top prize.

By being their first major shield in their history of netting the always-coveted Premiership Barclays Shield and making all sorts of headlines.

Now we have Leicester City once again making headlines but in a different type of competition, in one of Europe’s paramount of tourneys, paving their way to another fairy tale of a campaign, but in a different scenario.

After netting notable wins over their group foes, so far the Foxes are booking a date into the next round of 16, considered as an all-around feat for this squad being in its first rodeo.

With three being their lucky number so far, after dispatching Porto, KV Brugge and now a hardened Kovenhavn, the Foxes are making a hell of a run in this major event.

Forget the loss on the weekend against a renewed and revitalized Chelsea FC, but that was in the past and now their fortunes are betting on writing another chapter in their history and looking forward to another major trophy to its halls.

With King Power Stadium in the background the Foxes hear it all, with a numerous group of Danish fans traveling to this parts of Leicestershire and being very vocal with very out of hand chants considered a  bit distasteful.

Oh yes the Danes came very reinforced and made their presence felt with an array of flares and singing you’re S***, who are yer and you’re not famous anymore, with such perfect English that made the City players indignant.

Still for the Emperor Rainieri he was business as usual and put on the field his always-successful 4-4-2 formation and with his initial eleven of gala and with Jamie Vardy and Islam Slimani in the frontal attack, the Foxes looked ready.

The match being under way, both squads looked poised to net a win and seeing how an ambitious Copenhagen squad looking a bit dominant in the early minutes just became a scare for local’s keeper Kasper Schmeichel who came out with a clean sheet.

Not bad for the Dane after stopping cold in its tracks the Lions and putting once again a display of his abilities alongside his defensive backfield that stopped cold in its tracks a hardened FCK that at the end could beat the Foxes wall.

For the local City squad, forget Jamie Vardy and Islam Slimani constant arrivals towards the Lions posts and with no luck, but in the 40th minute is when it recorded what the lone goal of the match became the game winner.

As a long volley coming from the left side of the area and Slimani beating its mark and heading the ball to the center for Riyad Mahrez acrobatic kick and pushing the ball to the commotion of the visitors keeper and sending the whole of King Power Stadium into a frenzy.

How sweet it is the thrill of victory and in these stages of one of the world’s most prestigious and one of a kind events, as the Manager of the Foxes is eyeing the long eared trophy after a perfect three wins.
