A superb campaign for Dundalk FC



After sealing their fate one match at a time, the Lilywhites are on route of achieving their third league shield as well enjoying the challenges of playing in Europa League and making themselves ready to start  their push in the FAI Cup semifinals.

With a Friday night match scheduled at Oriel Park against the visiting Derry City Candystripes, on what seemed to be a very disputed and important match between these two titans putting their campaigns on the line.

A win for the Lilywhites could give them a lead of eight points and some cushion towards winning the league as for the Candystripes looking to net a win and add points to be as far possible from the Hoops and clinch the last European spot.

So far, for the Dundalk squad, living a sort of a fairy tale of a campaign, after falling short of being in the always-prestigious Champions League. Still for the Lilywhites, their European dreams did not stop there but at the contrary, these continued solidly by netting them a spot in the Europa League.

With tonight’s match, the Louth County Boys have shown their readiness and all around desires of putting a dent into their closest of chasers in the Leesiders and with today’s win they seemed to be heading for a league treble. 

As Dundalk Manager putting an initial eleven with some of his backup players and giving some rest to some of its starters, these showed off an immediate response to the call and delivered with a very convincing victory.

This was a match were Darryl Horgan became all of a sudden a name for the Republic of Ireland Boss to consider him in the upcoming national squad compromises, after the Lilywhites midfielder showed off a one of a kind performance.

By delivering a marvelous execution and with his all-around involvement in the match, were he served three passes that became the game winning goals of this match to a 3-1 rout and forging a lead in the league overall table.

Very well, this win is a shoot of optimism and motivation for the Irish based squad, ahead on their next international compromise.

Considered an important win and seeing how everything is going to plan by the Dundalk Boss in league play, now he has to prepare his squad to play at Dublin Tallaght Stadium against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Europa League on Thursday September 29.

Coming back to Sunday to start play in the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup semifinals against Derry City and return to league play on Friday October 7 at Oriel Park to play a hardened Sligo Rovers squad and close league play on the 14th against the Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght.

For now, the Dundalk FC Boys are in sole possession of first place in league play with 62 points over Cork City 54 points and tied for second with AZ Alkmar with a point each in the UEFA Europa League.

Still with a few matches left in league play, FAI Cup and a long journey in Europa league, the Lilywhites are showing off a wondrous and amazing campaign so far as well to applaud this squad all around efforts of delivering many satisfactions to its followers.

At the end this squad, is making a reputable name for itself in international play as well elevating the name of the league of Ireland and its football very highly in the confines of Europe, making it a superb of a campaign for the Dundalk FC Lilywhites.
