A recap of the league of Ireland with an undefeated Cork City

With no surprises in the League of Ireland, with an invincible, undefeated or who knows what to call John Caulfield and his gladiators of Cork City still in the top of the league and showing signs of not losing a match in this campaign.

Very well seeing how Bray Wanderers returning to the winning column alongside the revival of the defending champions one of a kind game in Dundalk rout, the Bohemians proving as an almighty squad playing as a visitor and in addition, the Shamrock Rovers is making a positive.

In the Saturday match an even and share of points between the Tribesmen and the Bit O’ Red, closing the returning of action in the SSE League of Ireland.

With a full weekend of Derbies, as the Munster, Dublin and Louth made all around headlines when the League of Ireland resume operations after a brief break from international break.

One thing for sure the Munster Derby was the headline of this week between a squad considered not invincible and dominant in Cork City not looking forward to surrender yet a match or concede a loss.

As the Limerick Blues coming to play in Turners Cross field, these did not had a prayer or chance to make an all-around statement with a 4-1 rout loss by the locals and with goals from the Leesiders sensation Sean Maguire with a double in the 23 and 46.

Followed by a tying goal in the 25 by the visiting Blues Rodrigo Tosi in the 25, the furious reaction by the Rebel Army came via Stephen Dooley in the 44, Maguire 46 and Jimmy Keohane in the 84 to seal the deal and continue undefeated until now!

Very well sealing a 4-1 wins at home for Cork City.

So far, City marches on successfully and with June almost ending, the Rebel Army streak continues since the start of and they lead the league with a comfortable lead of eighteen points over Dundalk.

Another spectacular score and win came this week with the defending champions Dundalk FC playing as a visitor in United Park, to play the always-disputed Louth Derby and with an all-around authority.

The Lilywhites of Stephen Kenny showed off its might once again and with a goal rout they sealed their might once again and looking forward to make a run in the end to make a run to the league top as their hopes is not to concede.

A 6-0 win over a clueless Droghs with two players scoring a double in Patrick McEleney in the 40 and 44 and Ciaran Kilduf in the 83 and 84 accompanied by David McMillan 37 and Michael Duffy  58, the Lilywhites are on the chase for the top.

As eighteen points make the difference between them and the Rebel Army and anything can happen in the end.

In Dublin, another Derby and with the name of the capital, when the local Saint Patrick’s squad saw its luck dwindle when the visiting Gypsies came, saw and defeated the locals by a 3-1 score.

Despite the locals opening the score in the 23 by Alex O’ Hanlon, the comeback kids in the Bohs via goals from Oscar Brennan 52, Dinny Corcoran 60 and Georgie Poynton 87, sealed a valuable win.

The other squad from Dublin the Shamrock Rovers, playing as visitors in Finn Park, these won with style and just a lone goal by leaving the locals quiet and a score from Michael O’Connor 37, was enough to assure a nice win.

Very well trailing the Gulls of Bray within a point from third place and not losing faith in their quest to continue their ascent towards the top of the league overall table.

Carlisle Grounds were witness of an epic and exciting battle between the locals Gulls and Candystripes of Derry City, which saw how competition in the game is all about, with a notable and considered as dispute win over the visiting side.

The Bray Boys are back in the winning column and keeping a point lead in third place and persistently keeping ahead of a pushing Shamrock Rovers making a case lately and winning matches that will be notable for them.

If not making a case for the the race for third place between them, still a win is a win and for Bray this match became a handful for the whole of its initial eleven, with scores from Darragh Noone in the 6, Ryan Brennan 23 and Tim Clancy 81.

As the visiting Derry Boys with scores by Ronan Curtis 23 and Nathan Boyle 47, were not enough to assure at least a point as a visiting squad and the Gulls return to the winning column once again.

To end the Saturday match between two struggling elevens, where the Sligo Rovers and Galway Untied squad face off in the Showgrounds for a share of the points, continue adding points in their causes, and look for their salvation.
