Score round two in the Dublin Derby for these hardened Bohemians

Shamrock Rovers 0, Bohemians 1
Tallaght Stadium, Dublin

Looks like the Bohs have taken the number of the Shamrock Rovers ever since last season, with today’s win over decimated Hoops left with nine men in the field the Gypsies have shown their dominance.

As the second edition of the Dublin Derby in this 2019 between the Shamrock Rovers playing at home and showing off a nice attendance in its stands going against their cross-town foes the Bohemians.

With the thrill of victory by the minimum, difference for the Bohs and the agony of defeat at home for the Hoops, todays Derby exposes how the Gypsies have the Hoops number.

However, for the home side seeing how their closest chaser with back-to-back wins in a determined Dundalk closing in, this match somehow meant a lot to the Rovers and in the end succumb to the intelligent game displayed by the Bohs.

The debacle started in the first half for the home side, with a couple of players seeing red in Trevor Clarke and Lee Grace in the 27 and later 37 minute these two players left the home squad with nine men.

Still the Hoops had some punch and opportunities wasted with Jack Byrne in the 14’ minute shoot missed by Ronan Finn, and later Roberto Lopes near miss to equalize in the 76’.

Just with nine men in the end, the Shamrock Rovers with nine men these defended well and not allowing the visitors in their multiple opportunities as well creating some close plays at goal.

With a lone goal from the Gypsies Daniel Corcoran in the 38’ minute a goal that became enough for the visitors that these prevailed in spite of the pressure put in the home side to net the equalizer.

In the end this loss puts the Shamrock Rovers position in the top and be within just five points lead over now second place Bohemians and seven points over Dundalk, playing them next week.
