Hail Portland Timbers Ultimate Heroics

For Manager Caleb Porter, that second win and especially on the road, was the culmination of his squad’s ultimate determination of delivering three points of gold!

A win is a win and with a couple of strikes from one of Portland’s Andean striker in Maxi Urruti, that became the icing on the cake for the Rose City Bhoys!

After going against adversity and having some of their key players in the DL list, Manager Porter really focused his initial eleven to form an all-around pressure and attack on the always difficult New York Red Bulls.

Without several key players in his lineup, still this squad showed a winning attitude as well determination to obtain their first road win as well shake up those away games blues.

So far netting several draws, this project is not perfected as its defensive side needs to stop giving away very awkward goals received, that could be prevented with a more hawkish defense.

Still the Timbers are given a shoot of optimism ahead of their mid-week match at the city of Angels and by traveling coast to coast, their match against Chivas USA will be a test of skills as well top notch condition to net a possible back to back wins.

I do credit these squad ultimate heroics and pulling those games out of those squad’s sleeves at the last minute, thanks to their pair of Argentinian strikers in Gaston Fernandez and Maxi Urruti coming always to the rescue.

And with a campaign in full swing, it looks like Manager Porter is seeing a tough agenda ahead of every match, as every one of his players are showing off certain readiness, to become a part of that initial eleven as well prime time.

At the end this squad is poised to soar into new heights after finding more confidence among themselves in this past match that lacked several of its key players.

With a little more ambition and hunger for the game, the Portland Timbers are looking ahead of this sudden surge, to climb for the top of the Western Division as well placed themselves in the always sought top five positions.

That at the end will mean a place in the always coveted League Postseason, were the Portland Bhoys have the team and skills to reach into the finals: but for now Manager Caleb Porter will focus in his next strategy as well initial eleven to front any of his squad upcoming challenges, go Timbers.

If I Root, I Root for the Timbers!

How about those amazing Dundalk Bhoys! A campaign like no other is the one being performed by those hardened Lilywhites chaps, making this squad as an overall contender.

After all three back to back victories over rival’s worth talking about, regardless of their position in the league overall table.

With a sudden ascent to the SSE Airtricity League overall top, the Lilywhites are playing a more focus and serious football in this edition of league play; after dispatching squad of the likes of Limerick FC on a 2-1 score and goal fest of 7-0 over a decimated Drogheda United.

The best was yet to come with a resounding 3-0 score over the Sligo Rovers, were the Dundalk chaps avenge their Setanta Cup loss recently over the Bit of Red blokes.

How sweet it was for the Cumann Peile Dhún Dealgan skipper Stephen Kenny, so far his formulas are working as expected along his initial eleven filled with a lot of young talent.

For now their Setanta Cup stumble is a thing of the past and for now their minds are set on netting the SEE Shield as well try to get another trophy to its halls at Oriel Park.

As this club drought in LEAGUE OF Ireland dates since the 1996 as well FAI last won in 2002, this entity is hungry for some shields as well some bragging rights in the Airtricity League.

So far in the campaign with 24 matches to go, Manager Kenny is determined and ready to make his Bhoys shine in the remainder of this campaign and maintain their undefeated record at home.

Being their next compromise in the EA Sports Cup and playing a determined Derry City in the quarterfinals, Dundalk is hopeful of capturing a must need win to advance into this internal competition semis.

Still for the Dundalk top boss Stephen Kenny his vision of building a contender is very well in the works as he’s betting on his youth to fulfill this squad future as well become a top rated entity in Irish football.

Ambitious indeed is the word to describe a club hungry to return to its old glories as well became a top contender regardless of its rivals in the Pats, Rovers, City and the Bit of Red in their quest to perfection as well winning the coveted league Shield.

Good Luck in such ambitious enterprise Dundalk FC, with courage and determination tis campaign can be yours- Is féidir le Dea-Ádh mór i fiontar uaillmhianach den sórt sin Dhún Dealgan FC, le misneach agus feachtas Tis cinneadh a mise!

A Bohemian Spoiler at the Dublin Derby

A point is worth a thousand ones, is what the Gypsies feat was translated in this weekend edition of the Dublin Derby between the Bohemians and the Shamrock Rovers.

After being in the lead of the overall table, the Shamrock Rovers streak was somehow stopped cold by its arch-rivals the Bohs in this heated edition of the Dublin Derby.

In what many saw a worthless and lack of scoring frenzy match tied at zero, still for the Bohs it was a point well worth savoring as well labeled as spoilers.

This match were the Shamrock Rovers had to net a win as well earn three points of gold, for Manager Owen Heary this draw had all the essence of a win with a lot to brag about.

It’s a North versus the South battle of Dublin town between these two titans, were the Gypsies have seen a decline in the game as well ambition to fight for the top positions in the Airtricity League.

Tallaght was the sites were this determined Bohs came and delivered an all-around frustration to its cross town foes the Rovers.

Still there are a lot of matches left in a league that just started making its headlines as well seeing a much contested race to the top between the Rovers, City, Pats and Lilywhites.

Very well I don’t doubt that the Sligo and Bohs can make a comeback to fight for the top as well deliver a one of a kind campaign for all of the followers of this League.

With a stunned Skipper in Hoops Manager Trevor Croly, seeing how his side all afternoon, missed left and right all of the opportunities given to them to capitalize on the match as well obtain that desired victory that finally slipped through their gasps.

Hard indeed, is the word for the Shamrock Rovers follower’s after seeing his side just netted one point and being displaced by a fighting Dundalk that suddenly is a the top.

For now the Rovers are on third place in the overall table being behind the first place Lilywhites by four points and Cork City by two points.

Many are seeing that this year of World Cup festivities, many leagues that already concluded showed a very heated and competed edition of their championship as we are witnessing in this edition of league play.

At the end the squad that perseveres will be the winner of this edition of the SSE Airtricity league which is becoming a very competed in all of its squads determined to win it all.

Those Incredible and Electrifying Cascadia Derbies

It looks like this edition of Major League Soccer and one of its internal competitions in the Cascadia Cup, is looking around as a top notch event to follow very closely.

Exciting in its entirety, it’s the word I use to describe these squads involved in this competition were  the Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps are really playing one serious football!

Undoubtedly, in this campaign as the Seattle Sounders are really playing one top notch football, its Cascadia neighbors are doing the same as well not giving an inch in their quest to excel in this competition.

In a couple of matches we’ve seen so far, the goal fest as well the pride in each squad initial eleven displayed in the field, it makes you think of each match being played as a final.

So far it has been two matches played in this edition of the Cascadia Cup, which dates since the days of that disappeared North American Soccer League and being Vancouver Whitecaps the overall winners of this shield.

This competition is based on a better percentage between these three squads competition between each other, during the MLS campaign, its why the name of Cascadia Derby.

With a couple of matches played between these three squads, were Seattle paid a visit to Portland in a match considered not recommended to those having a weak condition, after the goal fest witnessed as well the excitement put by both squads minute by minute.

Same thing we can say after another cardiac match played between the Sounders and Whitecap’s, were its result ended up in a draw, with a last minute PK, in favor of the Emerald City squad.

Also in next week matches being one pending between the Whitecaps and Timbers, to kick off the month of June in MLS activities- many have dubbed this match as one frantic and out of this world one.

Where at the end it promises to with a lot of one a kind plays, as well last minute heroics that can decide this match between these two Cascadia foes.

A campaign in its most exciting stages is the one we are witnessing in this edition of Major League Soccer, as well one competed event were all of these squads are determined to reach into the promise postseason positions.

Although the Pacific Northwest squads came after the league being founded, here in this region where professional soccer in America really took off and became embraced by all of these squad’s follower’s interest and enthusiasm.

Good luck Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps in your quest to win the always coveted edition of the Cascadia Cup.
