Stephen Kenny chaps
are playing one serious and ambitious football in this edition of the SSE Airtrcity
League of the Republic of Ireland.
Seriously, after
defeating a hardened and former first place holder in Cork City, the Lilywhites
really looked like a championship squad and with a seriousness of not to be mess
with!
A convincing 4-0 rout
over a surprised Leesiders squad, was enough of putting them on the league top,
although by just one point difference, over last campaign champion’s St.
Patrick’s Athletic.
This group of
Dubliners is trying to recover their place at the top, according to their expectation’s,
still the Lilywhites are playing a one of a kind football.
Dundalk FC will
continue their ambitious determination of achieving their goals, as well trying
to win the league shield over the Pats, who are trying to get back into their
winning ways, as well try to repeat as league champions.
Coming into this
campaign nobody considered this squad among the favorites to earn the shield or
to even contend for anything, still their push to the top of the overall table,
is showing the opposite side of the story.
An all-around statement
is what skipper Kenny is showing off in the start of this campaign, after all
this man has a very impressive CV in his managerial career, delivering results as
a way of leaving his mark in every squad.
Still we have quite some
ways before this league is over, with 26 matches left on this edition of the SSE
League- it’s when the Lilywhites need to get in business and get rolling in their
quest of glory.
It’s when this Loth
County squad, will put on a test for their might and will of winning , this
upcoming weekend at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin, going for the ultimate of
honors in the prestigious Setanta Cup finals against a rough Sligo Rovers squad.
As the chaps with a
match pending in league play against Limerick FC, their sights will be on
another shield in the always competed and decorated EA Sports Cup, were these
chaps already made it into quarters and play a belligerent Derry City.
Not bad for this
squad as well making their Manager Kenny very proud of his work, that so far has
shown in his squad his one of a kind work.
At the end Dundalk
will witness a very competitive race in league and cups play, were it will
expose this squad determination and willingness to bring a few trophies to
Oriel Park halls, if their playing like hungry wolves continues.
