What a campaign was
this one for the Manchester City Citizens, after its first year skipper in
Argentinian Manuel Pellegrini, who really delivered as expected and made this
club soar to new heights.
Very well instituting
respect and making this club a proud one in league circles and making into one
not to be messing with!
The work of the Andean
is worth a thousand words, in redefining their goals and delivering the results
expected for a club that has one of the most expensive payrolls in Premiership.
Still, the Etihad
Bhoys really went out of their way and saw their effort pay off,
delivering a double set of trophies to
its halls as well taking over the top of Premiership, to stay put at the final
matches.
Seeing it, as an all-around
feat at the end of the campaign, as another Barclay’s Premier League Shield was
won in a span of three years and lifted proudly in their final match.
On this league much
contested season, the Citizens never gave up an inch or surrendered their quest
to the top, seeing a certain push by the Blues, Gunners, Toffees, Hotspurs and
Reds.
It’s when the Citizen’s
really played an intelligent football and laid their aces in the field to
overcome their busy agenda and go against all odds.
To make a club a
winner with all of those luminaries in its initial eleven, takes a lot of work
as Manager Pellegrini really put order in its locker room and gave the results desired.
As many became
critical of the Argentine work after that loss to then league leaders
Liverpool, many thought that it was over; wrong they were as the Sky blues went
out of their way and silenced many of its detractors.
Another highlight of
this club wonderful campaign conquest was its high flying aspirations that made
players, front office and fans alike, dream of a foursome campaign.
Unfortunately for the
Citizen’s in FA cup things didn’t works as expected and in Champion’s League
being this a not so easy of endeavors, made Pellegrini surrendered to a much
superior rival in this competition.
As they say, there’s always
a next time and possibly the Citizens can soar into new heights of the always prestigious
and vied Champions League and other tourneys the Sky Blues be a part of.
For now is joy and euphoria
from the Citizen’s faithful follower’s after seeing its squad pulled one of the
craziest upsets in Premiership history as well overthrow a club that almost
claim the league top prize.
Well done Manchester
City Citizens and congratulations to your one and only Man at the helm in
Manuel Pellegrini in achieving its entire goals in his first year tenure- as
well restore a sense of pride and recognition to no longer be dubbed or referred
as the other Manchester squad.
