Three amazing matches highlights this weekend recap in the League of Ireland

Three matches were enough to spice up a contested League of Ireland with the Shamrock Rovers netting three valuable points, Cork City winning and the newly crowned champions Dundalk FC winning their respective matches.

With the Hoops, netting an important win over their cross-town foes the Saints and after a heated contest in the end Stephen Bradley and company delivered three valuable points of gold in their race to seize third place.

For the newly crowned champions going to the coast and playing in the always tough Regional Sports Centre and against a hardened foe in the local Waterford Blues, despite winning the title and having a comfortable lead.

These Lilywhites already setting the tone and record with the most goals scored in league play, with Patrick Hoban and Ronan Murray the scorers in the 50’ and 54’ , for the locals scoring Dessie Hutchinson 89’.

Waterford 1, Dundalk 2

For John Caulfield and his Rebel Army playing as locals in Turner’s Cross and looking to at least to close this campaign with a positive twist, with a troubled Limerick FC in town the odds of a positive outcome was in place.

With scores from Jimmy Keohane 2’ minute, Kieran Sadlier 53’ and Aaron Barry 90’ this scores were enough for the local Leesiders to come up with the win and assure their European position solidly in second spot.

Cork City 3, Limerick FC 0

In Richmond Park back in Inchicore the Dublin Derby headline this week in the SSE with a clash of neighbors between the Shamrock Rovers and Saint Patrick Athletic, in a match considered crucial if not difficult for the visiting Rovers.

In a much-disputed match between both squads and the visiting side managed by Stephen Bradley after learning the fate of the Waterford side, suddenly this initial eleven suddenly overturn a stingy defensive game displayed by the locals.

As the Shamrock Rovers late goal in the 90’ minute by Daniel Carr, was enough to seal the deal and net three points and slightly leading the Blues in the race to third place that awards a European positon.

Saint Patrick’s Athletic 0, Shamrock Rovers 1
