Cardiff City 4, Fulham 2
Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff City
In a goal fest, the
local Bluebirds delivered a miraculous first win of the campaign ever since their
promotion to the ranks of Premiership, giving the likes of their Boss Neil Warnock
some positive thoughts and a reason for reassurance.
Contrary to Fulham
seeing once again the debacle this club is immersed into as todays they showed
off many frailties in its defensive game and hence the results, despite the win
for Cardiff City these too have a reason to worry.
Still three golden points
at home and exiting abruptly the relegation spots the City side was immersed in
was somehow like an all-around achievement and seen like a confidence booster
along of seeing the possibilities of netting important results.
However nothing like
that first half when these two squads went at it and hit each other with their
best football that in the end City displayed its best to earn a much desired win.
Despite the shootout
staged by both squads and with their best players staging an ambitious and hard
fought game minute by minute, the scoring duel ended with an exciting first
half for both squads going into intermission tied at two goals apiece.
As the Cottagers were
the first ones to open up the score with an early and spectacular goal from André Schürrle
in the 11’ minute, when Ivorian Jean Michael Seri sent an opportune and on target
assist to open up the scoreboard.
The response of the locals in a sold out Cardiff City
Stadium saw the reaction of the CCFC response within four minutes when another combination
between Sol Bamba assisting to a wide open Josh Murphy to put the game even.
As Murphy in the 15’ minute putting the game even five
minutes later came what could been the go ahead goal in the 20’ minute when booby
Reid put the Bluebirds ahead to the joy of a frantically City legion of followers
celebrating out loud.
In spite the locals sudden dominance, in the 34’
minute the Whites equaled the score at two goals apiece when Aleksandar
Mitrovic passing to a wide open and opportune placed Ryan Sessegnon and with the
outlook of another exciting second half.
This was one contested affair as the locals started
going to see in what way they were going to take the lead and control of the
whole match and despite the pressure and opposition along the dominance of the visiting
Lilywhites.
In the 65’ minute when Bobby Reid and Callum Patterson
put the home side ahead with Patterson effort for the second time and this time
he was on the money with a nice goal to put Cardiff City ahead.
As in the finishing minutes, the home side once again
went on the attack and successfully the combination of Victor Camarosa passing
to Kadeem Harris to score the go ahead and game winner in the 87’ for the win.
A win to be cherished for a long time by these Bluebirds
that will awaken a more competitive football and maybe putting on a positive
run in the upcoming months, for now their only advantage over Fulham by just a point
in the overall table.
