Bray Wanderers 2, Derry City 1
Carlisle Grounds, Bray
A late game winner
from John Sullivan in the 90th minute became a stunner for the visiting
Derry City looking forward to an easy win in Carlisle Grounds over a reduced
Bray side looking forward to an easy win.
However, the plan did
not went forward for the Candystripes manager Kenny Shiels who in the end is looking
forward to this campaign to end and looking for next campaign and a fresh start
and become an all-around contender.
Still this campaign
not everything was lost for the City Boys as these earned the EA Sports shield
after beating first division Cobh Ramblers at Brandywell Stadium to the delight
of its followers.
With a match against
Saint Patrick’s Athletic at Inchicore the Candystripes are looking forward, to close
up the campaign in the plus if these deliver a win over the Saints and on the road
to finish the campaign tied up in points.
Getting back to this
match, these Bray Wanderers played a marvelous game of football from start to
its end, still this in the end this match was a total contest in every minute
played for both squads just looking for the win.
As in the 15’ minute
the visitors hit first with a score from Dean Shiels as his father astonished saw
how his son opened up the score and to the dismay of the attendees in the
Grounds seeing how their side was heading once again to collapse.
For the local Gulls,
it was business as usual and these were not going to leave this match without
putting on a fight as in the 26’ minute he locals via Sean Heaney put the score
even and going to halftime all tied up.
As the start of the
second half every minute count and for both squads vying for the kill if not to
score the game winner as this match looked like a tug of war by these two
titans looking for the win.
Both sides attempting
at goal and coming short of their objective until the ninetieth minute when John Sullivan came in an opportune time and on
injury time on the 94th minute to score the game winner and with little time
left.
Soon the clock hit 95’

and play their last game of the campaign still in the Premier division as 2019
these will have to start a new chapter in first division.
One more match left
