A New Beginning for a Columbus Crew Aiming for the League Shield



New management, philosophy and campaign ahead for this upcoming 2015, being one of the overall challenges for one of Major League Soccer pioneers, the Columbus Crew.

A franchise that has been considered a proven winner of the MLS triple shields: in the Lamar Hunt Trophy, the Support Shields Triple and the MLS Cup in 2008.

Those boys in Black and Gold are back with a vengeance and desires to shine once again in league action as well put on a competitive squad on the eve of another disputed 2015 edition.

Ask that to its Manager Gregg Berhalter going into his third year at the helm of this Ohio based club, which has inscribed in the history annals of MLS, many memorable notes of American soccer abroad.

Very well at home and in league competition, this entity has created a certain image of respect to its league foes whenever they play, in a conservative way.

With a majority of players returning to this club and new faces in defenders Emanuel Pogaletz from Austria and a whole European experience and former Rapids Chris Kluste.

Also a part of the news of signing their valuable and dependable Designated Player in Argentinian Federico HiguaĆ­n who is a very important part of this club offensive attack and with his countryman defender Hernan Grana, the Crew is ready for the ultimate of business.

The unfortunate side for the CCSC, is that many of its players are on international compromises with their respective National squads- still the Crew has a lot of talent to start a counter offense and play a one on one with anyone.

As the time its full squad returns, one ultimate desire will carry these Black and Gold chaps towards the league shield if possible a treble of campaign, with the potential this squad promises to show off.

On last campaign this squad new president and group that took over its reigns promised to build an overall contender as well build a new venue, as you remember this squad was the first one to have its own playing stadium in all of MLS.

And with a very arduous group of followers and its different support groups all seated in the North end of the stadium, the Nordecke after honoring the city’s German heritage, houses the most supportive of groups for the Crew.

Known for their overall all year support to their beloved Crew SC and for that is the compromise from the Black and Gold to perform another spectacular campaign to its great fan base.
 
At the end the Crew has a bright campaign ahead before opening day as well the arrival of new coaches to this organization will aid to the development and building furthermore a much bigger entity in years to come.

Although this club is not known to have an impacting preseason, wait until the full campaign starts and it’s time to lookout for the hunger of the Crew boys, as well ready to enjoy those heated Derbies with their arch-rivals.

Playing for the Trillium Cup with their Canadian foe the Toronto Reds and the Chicago Fire as its next state neighbor and were many of its followers travel to witness these Derbies, ready or not the Crew is up in arms.
