Hail to the East Side Boys from New England

Making an all-around statement in Major League Soccer is a very serious statement for those boys from the New England Revolution.

And someone we credit is its players and Boss, turning this squad all around and its man at the helm vision that suddenly eliminated mediocrity after a disastrous 2013.

Skipper Jay Heaps is really becoming a wizard of a Manager in getting a club submerged in total chaos into a contender and maybe as the overall favorite.

Very well this time win the always elusive MLS Cup that the Revs have lost in several of their appearances in the grand finale.

With many players committed to perform wonders in the field, the Revs really positioned themselves among the top five elite and never let go of their positon, keeping their ground.

Commanding and in control are those two series with rivals of the likes of the Columbus Crew, that became their first test of fire.

Passing it with flying colors and with a total dominance over a clueless Crew squad, the next step was to play a semifinals with their I-95 rival’s in the New York Red Bulls.

No one imagined the spirit of struggle and determination showed by this group, when they were coming as total underdogs and face a start studded Red Bulls squad at home.

Where the Red Bulls aren’t a walk in the park when they play in front of their faithful, the New England chaps never gave up and became intimated by the Metros initial eleven and its followers in anytime.

By winning the first leg with a nice 2-1 score and with goal’s from Teal Burnbury and Jermaine Jones for the go ahead, the Revs came home with a sort of comfortable lead.

That lead that was never let go in the second leg in Foxborough, when they really showed off a nice personality and passion in the after its rivals scored two goals that later were eclipsed by Charlie Davies double.

Making it a feat like no other and making this club return to its old glory days, the New England Revolution is waiting for their next rival from the Western Division between the LA Galaxy and the Seattle Sounders.

I do hail for the boys in Boston and their ambition to overcome adversity and delivering results not imagined by any of them, next stop a final to be played with courage and resolve.

The Portland Timbers Recap of the 2014 Campaign

What a challenge, the Portland Timbers had to endure throughout this past 2014 campaign, as many encounters that saw this squad rising to the occasion.

By tackling many obstacles and playing with rivals that looked in part more superior as well reinforced, Manager Caleb Porter did an all-around feat with his chaps.

Never giving up and tackling challenge after challenge, very well experimenting since day one with different lineups in its initial eleven.

The Timbers Boss never gave up in his desire to contend in this edition of Major League Soccer, that at times this squad almost touched the infamous cellar of its division.

I do mean taking a squad that at times many thought suddenly was on the verge of collapse; its skipper rose to the occasion and lifted its spirits high!

With the arrival of two experienced reinforcements to face a new campaign, top man Gaston Fernandez and Norberto Papparato.

Those two became a part of this Rose City squad and joining the likes of its countrymen in front man Diego Valeri and Maxi Urruti.

Giving this squad and attack a bit of Argentinian feel, with hopes of what it was the defense of their first place finish atop the Western Division and trying for an encore of their 2013 performance.

That year was the turning point of the Portland Timbers, by seeing an overall recovery and sudden climb into their division spots and introducing themselves as one of the new elite squads of this league.

Something not foreseen by the Timbers, it was the level of competiveness MLS showed throughout this campaign, where many players felt the heat and the pressures from its league foes.

So far many matches this club showed off a nice record of 12 wins, 9 loses and 13 draws that gave this club a nice 49 points overall and falling short of the post season by just one mingy point.

Still a grand performance this club showed off, by evaluating these campaign ups and downs as well many of its awesome followers’ having some doubts of this squad.

Seeing a not so effective defensive backfield, the Timbers Boss really felt pressured to make up some progress and with a variety of moves, which at times the man at the helm wasn’t getting anywhere.

The Timbers front office started taking matters into their own hands and suddenly netting a couple of of players from two different European leagues along of sending some players in trades.

As the Timbers struggles in offense and its defensive backfield, which saw the arrival of Nigerian giant forward Faneando Adi on loan from FC Copenhagen and Liam Ridgewell cut from West Brom Albion that gave a boost to its backfield.

Sending a message to many players in this squad, that there is no such thing than a free ride and it was time to start producing or face the music.

Suddenly the Rose City chaps started implementing a new game and suddenly started fighting to be among the top five squads being the Caps as its Cascadia rival one of its fiercest competitors.

The arrival of Liam Ridgewell along his Premiership experience became vital in the Timbers backfield that all of a sudden turned up to be a wall to opposing strikers.

Suddenly the Timbers backfield changed the image of wimpy to a respected and determined one in its transformed foursome.

Seeing the likes of Jorge Viilafaña renewed career, alongside Norberto Papparato that finally started producing with longtime starter in Pa Modu Kah and Jamaican sensation Alvas Powell- giving their longtime goalie Donovan Ricketts a reason to relax.

Very well its midfield with captain Will Johnson's leading the way and its prime-time midfielder Diego Chara playing both offensively and defensively in a very effective way, this club was looking like its previous campaign.
Alongside one of the Timbers one day legend in its prime-time player and leader of its offense in Diego Valeri considered a natural in the midfield and leading his club once again in various sectors.

Another area that skipper Porter needed his magic was its frontal attack, where Darlington Nagbe alongside Rodney Wallace were always there and really produced in the clutch.

A winner in Gaston Fernandez with his experience and leadership saved many matches for the Timbers seeing his participation being much appreciated and don’t forget Maxi Urruti that he contributed to the cause and delivered as expected.

Overall Manager Caleb Porter was a sort of a Dr. Jekyll and nothing to hide miracle men at the helm of the Rose City squad.

When the going got tough, he made his boys tougher and really determined not to look back if not focus on the future and look for top notch results.

At the end, this squad of the likes of the Portland Timbers is poised for much higher feats and achievements in years to come, injecting a little of ambition and with the right formulas put again by boss Caleb Porter.

One day maybe not so further away, we will see in Rose City a shield if not several adorning the halls of Providence Park as a tribute to its many die hard follower’s, giving them a sunshine to make them happy.

If I Root, I Root for the Timbers!

The Potters Premiership Perseverance and Showmanship

This is it! Is what Stoke City Manager Mark Hughes has in mind, with a squad determined to make an all-around statement in every venue of Premiership.

And it certainly is making an impact as a visiting entity; ask that to London’s White Hart Lane prodigal sons, being defeated in a very convincing manner.

It was an all-around feat for the Potters that are in need to add points to its cause and with the squad that its front office assembled for this edition of Premiership.

So far are executing a game plan that its mentor in charge and boss is netting very positive results that this club has placed in ninth place in the overall table with 15 points.

Not bad for a club that no one bet for its survival and performances throughout the campaign of Premiership.

Beating a squad of the likes of Tottenham Spurs isn’t your everyday act, especially as a visitor and with a skipper so determined to lift this squad among the tops.

Stoke City did it and putting in ridicule the program and strategies that its Manager Mauricio Pochetino is trying in vain to implement.

I mean putting the Lilywhites Argentinian skipper in a spot, after experimenting with a different lineup and leaving its multimillion starters on the bench as simple spectators.

Something that skipper Mark Hughes and the Potter boys really took advantage of and implemented their rule in the field.

Demonstrating that after getting some players not so spectacular, still their role of those in the squad is considered as a prime one and leaving no doubt, that this club is for real!

Can they aspire for some shields; maybe if these chaps keep this winning mentality, suddenly they may be among the top 5 squad’s fighting for a European spot.

Seeing a will of steel and a determination of a lion in the hunt, the Stoke City boys are looking to mend themselves with its fan base and delivering a lot of satisfactions one match at a time.

Nothing to lose but a lot to gain is what the mentality at Britannia Stadium and its residents resolute to make this edition of Premiership an overall challenge well fighting for and delivering and surprising everyone in the confines of the EPL.

Attitude is what this club suddenly is building and it has demonstrated in every match played and this victory was an injection of optimism, ahead of their upcoming compromises that include the likes of Burnley, Manu, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Those High Flying Swansea Gang

Hail for the residents of Liberty Stadium, after putting a display of determination and mastery over a top gun of Premiership this weekend.

For the lads of Swansea City it looks they can play on a one to one basis to anyone in the EPL, regardless of its ranks and whatever initial eleven put on the field.

I mean a great performance from Garry Monk’s boys, on a match that they displayed with a lot of spirit and determination- to defeat a resilient Arsenal squad.

That isn’t your everyday feat, for the squad of the likes of the Swans in an afternoon filled with a lot of great technique and resolution- to give the final blow to the visiting Londoners.

I do praise the Jacks front office, after their moves in the transfer market, netting good players and without breaking their bank, very well giving an opportunity to their young talents.

And although during the transfer market something good can happen to any squad and considered as a double sword edge, in the case of the Swans that wasn’t the issue.

As the results are being displayed on the field and the overall table were they seat on fifth place with eighteen points and just percentage points behind fourth place West Ham.

Still the residents’ of Wales know about the campaign is not over yet-but they are savoring every moment of glory their squad gives them in the field.

A very different campaign indeed, with last campaign that almost netted the Swans a trip to the infamous relegation positions, suddenly they did the ultimate to salvage their spot in Premiership.

Those fighting Jacks are showing a new personality and grit to resolve their matches, this campaign was to a grand start, being on first and upsetting some well-known squads.

Time will be crucial for the Clwb PĂȘl-droed Dinas Abertawe or Swansea Swans to continue its quest of excellence in the English Premeir League, that so far is giving us many surprises as well this Welsh club that can really go for more.

For now the Swans are making an all around statement in all of Premiership circles as well getting a lot of that lost respect back into this entity, hopefully they stand their ground!

At the end, for the Swansea City Association Football Club, by playing one impressive football is thanks to its boss Garry Monk strategies and well planned agenda infused into this club initial eleven.
