The Quakes Rattled a Defenseless Chicago Fire

The San Jose Quakes really put on a show or better describe it, a goal fest, where those gathered at Santa Clara’s University Buck Shaw Stadium.

Got their money’s worth, after seeing a sudden surge in their beloved Quakes, playing in what seems like their last matches in this venue, as well try to move out of the Western Division cellar.

First things first, this match, scheduled on a midweek between the ailing San Jose Quakes receiving another squad with troubles of its own, the Chicago Fire.

It looked like the Quakes are in a sudden urge to leave the horrendous Western Division cellar, still they are a few points shy of their feat.

Still this win was a shot of confidence for the local Quakes, trying in vain to recover and set their sight of getting away from the horrendous cellar as well try a push into a possible postseason position.

And a call or an effort in trying to salvage what many has called a mediocre campaign, where the Bay area chaps are suddenly battling against the odds since last campaign. 

With a match that meant a sort of homecoming for former Quakes Manager Frank Yallop, who is having some troubles of its own at the Windy City.

In this match he really got what he deserved, after his former pupils, really put on a show for their local followers, for the 5-1 rout.

Leaving a Fire defensive side with a lot of questions as well clueless of what really hit him or happened in the course of the match.

As the Quakes had a couple of notable absences in their initial eleven, still San Jose Coaches saw a light at the end of the tunnel, with a combination of Chis Wondolowski and  Yannick Djalo that left a good impression on Manager Mark Watson.

Considered as an awesome performance, indeed and an upcoming exhibition match at San Francisco Candlestick Park on Sunday; facing a hardened La Liga Champions on Spanish side Atletico Madrid. 

The Quakes comes a bit positive and optimist of netting a win worth to motivate this squad push towards their division top five spots, as nothing being or seen as impossible for these chaps.

Off course, if they continue with these stellar performances and playing, this squad is ready for many positive things in what’s the rest of this campaign.

Queens Park Rangers New Premiership Hopes

Loftus Road Stadium is up and ready for Premiership action, starting on 08/14/2014 its prodigal sons in Queens Park Rangers, will start a new chapter in England’s top notch League.

After playing for a whole year at the Championship level, after their infamous demotion and little their Manager Harry Redknapp did to prevent that fall.

Now the White City Bhoys are up and running to start another chapter in their troubled Premiership history, one that will be as contested as last edition.

What a team needs to succeed is to reinforce its weak spots, something that its think thanks upstairs are doing continuously, after all this market is not filled with bargains and competing with giants isn’t in this club plans.

Still when there’s a will there’s a way and by luring players of the likes of former Manu stellar in Rios Ferdinand and Cardiff City Steven Caulker, the Hoops are counting with a strong defensive backfield.

It’s a way of trying to assure the Hoops followers that their new adventure in Premiership can be somehow secure and won’t be a repeat of that disastrous 2012-13 campaign.

Something that’s a challenge for many of those squads being promoted into EPL and t5hey see their dream vanished at the end with the infamous relegation into the Championship League.

Not these R’s who are up and running to contend and fly high in this edition of Premiership, it’s what Manager Redknapp is looking forward in trying to net a shield in the Capitol One Cup and FA Cups.

For this West London club its business as usual and getting ready for their debut at home against a hardened and not so easy Hull City Tigers.

Will be Harry Redknapp’s top priority to make an everlasting impression for his club fans on opening day with a resounding and vociferous win over their rivals and start a new era at Loftus Road Stadium.

Hopeful, you bet, these chaps and club is ready to contend as well seek their place among the league elite clubs and top five squad’s- competing for European glory!

Determination and ambition, is something that this club has in all of its players, looking a bit desperate to make a hit in the football world of the English Premier League- contenders, indeed these Hoops are looking like overall contenders.

Dundalk Lilywhites Return to the Top!

Oriel Park was witness of its prodigal sons climb to the league top, by putting on a awesome football display as well netting a much needed win.

After losing their Europa League match to Croatia’s Hadjuk Split at Oriel Park, Stephen Kenny side was in need of erasing that bad impression to its followers.

A win is a win and with a determined and hot streaked cellar ridden Athlone Town; the home side was in need if not desperate for a win and return to the SSE- Airtricity top.

And that’s what the Bhoys from Dundalk did, by netting two goals into Ryan Coulter posts, the locals gave their followers a reason to celebrate with a tie at first, with the City Leesiders.

This campaign has seen a determined and resolute squad going to all the means to assemble a contender as well see their hopes pay up with a couple of shields. 

Still with a match pending against Hadjuk Split, to play as visitor’s at Stadion Puljod and going with not a pretty sight in their favor and a score of two goals’ against.

For now the Cumann Peile Dhún Dealgan will have to tackle one match a time, after their Europa qualifiers they have a match pending at home against a Bray Wanderers squad, hungry for points and to climb away the no descent zone. 

Is what Stephen Kenny will have to sort as August his squad will have one busy task in the EA Sports Cup, where they play in the semifinal rounds against Wexford Youths squad and as well their compromise in the FAI Ford Cup.

All of these will depend on their performance on July 24 on their visit to always difficult Stadion Puljod and face a Hadjuk Split squad- which promises to be a challenge to Kenny’s chaps.

Challenging will be for the Lilywhites to keep their position and hold their grounds at first, after all the activity in the Airtricity League next month will be a contested one.

 With matches against Cork City that will undoubtedly will be dubbed as the Summit Derby where both squads are determined to defend their position atop and with Bohemians, Sligo Rovers, Limerick and Drogheda United on their schedule. 

At the end Manager Stephen Kenny never saw it coming, how will his chaps will have to mount a score and maintain their hopes alive in the grand European fete, advance to a cup semifinal and maintain in another one their hopes alive- very well try to keep their league position first place.

Portland’s Renewed Hopes on their Post Season Aims

How sweet it is, the thrill of victory and keeping your hopes up alive, for the league postseason as well netting an important win at home.

For Portland Timbers Manager Caleb Porter, the word quitting isn’t one to be found in this skipper vocabulary on his push to salvage, what many call a funny campaign. 

As this season has been seen like a see saw for the Rose City chaps, still they have won important matches as well lost and draw ones that could been a sure victory. 

Still that’s football, nothing is written and with their race off from the Cascadia Shield, now it’s time for Porterball to focus on the last postseason spot in the Western Division, that’s within reach by just two points.

We have a ways to go and thinking postseason, you bet your horses, as Manager Caleb Porter is one ambitious and determined Manager that has sets his sights on perfection here in Providence Park. 

Very well bring the Shields to its halls, but this project will be with patience and persistence at the end, as last campaign that saw the Timbers performance boost to the postseason as well losing the Supporters Shield by just one point to the big Apple chaps. 

Nothing is lost as well over, as the Portland Bhoys are on a mission to success as well close the remaining matches, the majority of them being on the road.

Netting important wins as well not letting go any of the points in play, slip away with simple ties or loses in key matches, will be Caleb’s Bhoys main goals in the upcoming compromises. 

This past weekend we saw the belligerence of the Timbers initial eleven, which showed of its mettle by coming from behind and winning an important match with division rival’s Colorado Rapids.

The chaps of Skipper Pablo Mastroeni, who are having a dream campaign and sitting pretty in the top three positions for the league playoffs, didn’t saw the Timbers reaction from both of its Argentine stars for the final score of 2-1.

After this win, the Timbers Manager has renewed his hopes to reach higher positions as well seeing how his new additions in his defensive backfield, with former Baggie Liam Ridgewell from the English Premiership side West Brom Albion.

At the end, nothing is written until is over to do so, and with an injection of optimism, the Rose City squad is really determined to pull positive result at home or away that will be the one to determine their faith as well their trip to the postseason, Portland Timbers can do it!
