The Republic of Ireland ready for its international compromises


Once again, the international adventure of the Republic of Ireland Men’s National Team and for its manager Martin O’ Neill being ready to start a new chapter in the international theater with his Boys in Green. 

With a couple of international compromises ahead on the UEFA Nations League opener on September 6 against an old foe in Wales and on September 11 a friendly against Poland, the Green Army is up and ready.

For manager O’ Neill this time having in his list the likes of Graham Burke, Connor Hourihane and Alan Browne considered gems in the Green Army future as well the first call-ups for the senior team for goalkeeper Sean McDermott and forward Callum Robinson.  

This highlights the seriousness, confedence and trust manager O’ Neill has placed on these youngsters despite Maguire missing due to an injury and possibly others that may be in the the man from the North radars. 

Still missing in the call-ups are Dundalk Patrick Hoban the current Airtricity scoring leader as well other players from the domestic league that this time were not included in manager O’ Neill’s plans.   

However, in the disabled list with injuries and discarded are James McCarthy (leg), Robbie Brady (ankle), Scott Horgan (groin), Sean Maguire (hamstring) and Shane Long (foot) and Kieran O’ Hara will link with the Under 21 on the ROI games qualifiers against Kosovo and Germany.

For manager O’ Neill so far having to sort a few controversies in his group, his main goal is to make an all-around unity and start observing the group developments these display in every match.

For now, manager Martin O’ Neill has confirmed this squad for the Republic of Ireland men’s senior team upcoming doubleheader.
