One wonderful and awesome weekend, was the one
lived by the Boys of Longford County after netting a valuable win alongside three
points of gold.
So far after this squad recently promoted to
the Irish levels of Premiership and after nine matches played, they have
managed to win two of them, which have placed them in sixth place.
By showing off a nice determination and
hunger for winning their upcoming
matches, the Cumann Peile Bhaile
Longfort or better known
as De Town, will have their hands full as well for their Manager Tony
Cousins.
Looking a bit ambitious and making his Boys
played with such a spark and after this weekend win over a downsized Limerick
FC, that really made a difference for them in the overall table moving up three
positions as well their fighting spirit.
This was indeed a nice shoot in the arm
that gives this newcomer to the big circuit certain optimism as well a new
infusion of energy in their upcoming compromise against lowlight Bray Wanderers.
For Town Boss it was a feat like no other
as well seeing his initial eleven fought off all afternoon against a rival
willing to net some goals as well lift itself with the win, which his defensive
side didn’t allowed all ninety minutes
of play.
As well seeing his offense performing well
under pressure and seeing its efforts paid off with a lonely score an opportune
strike from its Captain Mark Salmon in the early minutes of the match that
proved sufficient for the raucous win.
A project that so far is delivering in
little amounts but surely and within distance
of fifth place holder Saint Patrick’s Athletic that holds a six point lead over
the De Town and twelve within the European spots held currently by the Shamrock
Rovers.
Work is still to be done and for the continuance
of a successful run is to be seen in the upcoming matches that will include
some internal Cup play, were undoubtedly its boss already set his sights in
winning a couple or at least one.
Being their first compromise in FAI Cup
play against the Finn Harps playing this squad venue as a visiting entity and
returning to league play on June 5th to face the Cumann Peile Fánaithe Bhré or bray
Wanderers Seagulls.
Something that will fulfill this club
wishes of netting an automatic berth to the next UEFA Europa League tourney, alongside
bring those pieces of silverware to adorn its halls at City Calling Stadium, time will be this club
best ally, good luck Longford Town.
