The Whitecaps Building a Competitive Squad

On the eve of what looks another competitive and stellar campaign in Major League Soccer, the Vancouver Whitecaps are really serious in assembling a competitive squad for this 2014.
Going into its fourth campaign since its inception in MLS, the Caps have only made the postseason one time as well last season disappointment of missing the league postseason.
Still the Caps after changes in the helm and in the field- this Canadian club is poised to be ready to battle its archrivals in the Cascadia Cup as well its fellow Canadian foes in the Impact and the newly rebuilt Toronto crew.
Indeed, rivals and Derby’s galore for the Caps as its cross border rivals in the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers are determined to spoil this Canadian squad, quest of a repeat in this regional event that really brings the competitiveness in these three squads.   
Still for newcomer man at the helm of the Caps Carl Robinson, will be business as usual for the former Welch great player now turned Manager with a challenge and burden to make the White and Blue an overall winner!
Regardless of the competition, the Caps are determined to give its faithful fans, among them its Southsider’s group, the satisfaction of a full pennant driven campaign filled with a lot of  trophies to its halls in BC Place.
 The arrival of newcomers to this Vancouver squad in  a couple of seasoned Uruguayan’s Sebastian Fernandez and Nicolas Mezquida, these two- considered by the Caps as an answer to its south of the border Portland Timbers Argentinian player additions recently.
Vancouver front office will show the fruits of its labor on an upcoming tourney played at Portland’s Providence Stadium called the Rose City Invitational agaisnt their hosts, San Jose Quakes and Jamaican Portmore United from Jamaica.
This will be a special reunion for the White and Blue own Darren Mattocks and their one of a kind first draft choice in Jamaican sensation Andre Lewis, to play their fellow countrymen in this preseason tune up for all these squads.
Adding to this squad war chest, the Caps front office really got a bit creative in making an all-around reunion between former Quakes Steven Breitashour, Rapids Jordan Harvey and Red Bulls Mehdi Bekouchy- making this squad an armada.
At the end the Vancouver Whitecaps will be a squad not to be mess with- very well a contender in this upcoming edition of MLS which promises to be one exciting ride for many of us lovers of the beautiful game!
