The Heat is on For Leicester City Barclay’s Shield Aspirations

A Notable and convincing win, is making many Premiership fans dream of seeing the possibility of seeing a new entity winning this edition of the Barclays Shield.

I hope that this does not end with a just a bunch of shattered dreams as of that Liverpool a few years ago that came short of the big prize within two points.

So far so good with a resilient and persistent Leicester City being the surprise of this campaign in all of Premiership, suddenly has captured the admiration of many after seeing their feats.

By capturing nine points out of eighteen in play and one lonely loss with Liverpool, still a notable win over resurgent Tottenham and this week over Stoke City.

Still for the Foxes Boss Claudio Rainieri, nothing won but the road to success is paved with many challenges that include upcoming matches with Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal.

That is not all with many obstacles and matches to play in the upcoming two months, we will witness a much-competed race to the final and possibly, by March the Foxes can start seeing the homestretch a bit reachable.

For the Foxes Chairman in Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, this campaign could not come as one very welcoming one with a lot of satisfactions and so far January almost being in the books, the heat is on February.

With matches against their closest followers in the Gunners and the Citizens, the Foxes are up in the table by three points, but a win from Wegner’s Boys could tie it up again.

Fought of the race to the EPL top with these three squads, two already familiar into these situations and one being the newbie that can rewrite history for the small entities.

One thing I admire about Leicester City is their front office getting a tight grip on their star players Ryan Mahrez and Jamie Vardy who are the architects of this club success in this campaign.

City has quite a schedule ahead including Cup matches and if everything goes according to their Boss Rainieri and without any injuries to key players- maybe King Power Stadium can celebrate loudly their overall achievement.

Look at me a bit excited, indeed, it’s time to see new clubs winning the shield, gone with the traditional big guns and their plentiful of monies, this club can and will do the ultimate of achievements in this edition.

While the league is red hot, the Foxes must maintain a cool head and play one match at a time with all of the ambitions of playing a final.
