The Linfield Blues made it to the top, after netting a
valuable win over Cliftonville at home with a lone goal, as Coleraine drew
against Glentoran and Crusaders succumbed to Ballymena United.
The Danske Banc Premiership is somehow showing signs of a
heated contest with all its squads, some looking forward to recovery and
moving up the table as well looking for their salvation in the end.
With the league in its peak, the contest between the Blues,
Reds, Bannsiders and Glens following closely, they are stepping up their game for
the enjoyment of the many fans following all the action and excitement of the
NIFL.
A lone goal from the Blues Chris Casement in the 62’ minute
was enough for the defending champions to net an important win and taking over
the summit along with a draw by Coleraine.
This loss became fatal for the Reds trailing now trailing
first place Blues and Coleraine by just a point and the draw by the latter ones
gives the new leaders the lead by goal differentials.

Another game won by the minimum difference was the one
played in the Showgrounds were the local Crusaders got defeated by a lone goal
scored by a winless Ballymena United dating since September.
For the Sky Blues lone score done by Joshua Kelly in the
88’ minute to uplift the visitors to a win and keep a distance of three points from
Glenavon, Dungannon and eight over relegation prone Institute.

In the Showgrounds of Coleraine, the local Bannsiders
thanks to their man of the game Aaron Jarvis brace, these got a valuable share
of points against a determined and hardened Glentoran.
As the visiting Glens with scores from Robbie McDaid 13’
and Paul O’ Neill in the 35’, these almost delivered an upset until Jarvis on
the double in the 48’ and 76’ sealed the deal.
Coleraine 2-2 Glentoran
In Mourneview Park the local Lurgan Blues fell prey of a resolute
Larne that got a prized win on the road, sentencing the match in the first half
with goals from Harry Flowers 38’ and Albert Watson 44’.
No later in the second half the Reds via Jonathan McMurray
in the 75’ sealed the deal for the visitors, for the home side a goal via a
penal came from Stephen Murray 49’.
Glenavon 1-3 Larne
At Longshore Arena, the local Gers ran riot over a feeble
and relegation candidate Institute not seeing the light of day and in every
game sentencing its destinies for Championship League.
As the Amber Army with scores from Daniel Kelly 4’, Mark
Surgenor 82’ PK and Michael Smith 90+4’, were enough to seal the win and seeded
in sixth place in the overall table with 27 points.
Carrick Ring 3-0 Institute
What a way to end a losing skid for the Swifts after defeating
the likes of Warrenpoint Town at Stangmore Park, with this win Dungannon puts
some distance in the relegation spots.
With scores from Callum Byers 04’, Conall Young (OG) 60’
and Mark Patton 72’ were enough to seal the deal and maybe start of a
turnaround, for the losers Point Brandon Doyle scored in the 11’.
