The Foxes delivered a valuable win against visiting Crystal
Palace today at King Power Stadium, with a double from Jamie Vardy scoring his
100 and 101 goals in the Premier League and holding to a clean sheet.
For Brendan Rodgers, this win meant a lot and still
seeing his side keep a one-point lead over the Chelsea Blues that came
victorious too and putting pressure on the North Ireland man side for third
spot.
Still, this match was to belong to Jamie Vardy, the Foxes
the main marksman, after a scoreless first half and despite the efforts of City
after James Justin seeing a ball hitting the crossbar that would give the
locals and early lead.
The Foxes were to decide this one and with just a few
minutes into the second half, it is when the locals with Kelechi Ieanacho got
in the scoreboard when he tapped a Youri Tielemans pass for the game first goal
in the 49’.
However, this was to be Jamie’s Vardy day after a couple
of failed efforts, opportunity knocked in the 77’ minute, and after Vardy previously
had a missed opportunity in what looked an easy play, somehow the tables turn
in his favor when substitute Harvey Barnes pass for his 100th goal.
As the score showed a clear lead and win for the Foxes,
these never quit in their efforts to seal this one as the Foxes defense came
through the pressure put on by the Glaziers, but it was for keeper Peter Schmeichel
time to rise to the occasion.
After six minutes passed by its was time for the man of
the game to put his seal nd reach another milestone in his career with a double
and with hi 101 goals of his Premiership career when the combination of Harvey
Barnes and Jamie Vardy deliver.
With a hat trick, the Vardy deliver the game-winner and
cushion goal for Leicester City that along with a clean sheet, breaking a winless three
game streak as well maintains a one-point lead over the Chelsea Blues.
