A Postseason Race between Two Cascadia Foes

Suddenly we have a heated race in Major League Soccer, by witnessing a sudden and competed push to the league postseason.

As many seek to be above the always coveted red line, two squads from the Western Division suddenly are embroiled in an excited tug of war contest.

It’s where two Pacific Northwest squads, presently involved in this race, are starting to take advantage of its three remaining matches of the campaign and try to make it to the promise land.

Being the Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps, two of these squad’s aboard a possibly bitter and contested race to the end of this campaign.

One point is the difference between these two titans, after all the Caps suddenly taking advantage of a good home stand and netting key wins over its division top rivals.

The Vancouver squad and its first year skipper Carl Robinson put his strategies to work, with back to back wins over a top of the line Real Salt Lake and Dallas FC squads.

That leaves the Caps Boss, with another challenge hanging, by going to always difficult Century Link Park, to face a dominant and top of the line squad, in the Seattle Sounders by far being the favorites to win it all.
Very well disputing the Cascadia Shield, were the Emerald City chaps have one point advantage in the standings of this internal competition and with a Caps win they can claim it, in back to back fashion.
Still the way is paved with a lot of challenges and with remaining matches for the Canadian squad with Colorado Rapids and San Jose Quakes, things aren’t as easy as it looks for the Vancouver Boys.

For the Rose City squad, Portland Timbers, their weekend win over the San Jose Quakes and remaining matches with San Jose and Real Salt Lake at home and closing at Frisco, Texas with a heavy handed Dallas FC.

The Timbers boss Caleb porter is certain that a loss in their reaming matches is all over for him and his chaps, after showing off a roller coaster of a campaign, were the skipper had to juggle with a series of lineups.

Some of those that at the end started making strides and netting the necessary results, still consistency were the missing ingredient for these hardened Timbers that all of a sudden are on the postseason hunt!

With a little luck, maybe we will have a thunderous result on this race, being the last match of this 2014 campaign almost coming to a close, we will see the definitive winner and bearer of the last postseason spot, between the Caps and Timbers!
