The Seattle Sounders ready for another final

With two back-to-back appearances in the league finals, this campaign will be no different for manager Brian Schmetzer and his Seattle Sounders. The Rave Greens come labeled as all around favorites.

For second year Sounders, alumni and second year operate, manager Brian Schmetzer looking forward to another prolific campaign, his work in the preseason is giving us a taste of what to come in this 2018.

As the preseason friendlies, the Rave Greens have something to show off in its future with many of its young academy prospects showing a lot of promise and a bright future for this squad.

So far, with a current crop of talented rookies from their S2 USL squad, in the preseason in several matches I have been very convinced of many of these young lads’ game and desire to succeed and make it one day to the big squad.

The way this squad reinforced in the off-season with just a couple of players, shows off the belief that Schmetzer has deposited in his youth, but while these give the big jump. The need of some experience in midfielder international Magnus Wolff Eikram from Swedish side Malmo FC and Columbus Crew defender in Costa Rican Waylon Francis.

Another way this squad is changing maybe with a new formation being change for a more dynamic approach in its attack with a couple of strikers using Jordan Morris and Will Bruin in the frontal attack versus a 4-2-3-1 using a lone striker.

With the Rave Greens preparing, to make a successful run not only to the league postseason a third run to the final would not be a bad idea, but the way to the Promised Land will be paved with many obstacles.

For many squads well-armed and ready to be more competitive as well keep a healthy squad will be again the success manager Schmetzer will be looking forward to front a contested 2018.

The arrival of Magnus Eikram will add more depth and make a stronger midfield with the likes of Nicolas Lodeiro, Harry Shipp, Clint Dempsey and Victor Rodriguez, Ozzie Alonso and Cristian Roldan.

Returning with new deals for Lamar Neagle and Callie Brown and seeing the debut of Alex Roldan and Jordan McCreary. The best part is the addition of Homegrown Players UW Alumni Handwalla Bwana, Seyi Adekoyia and Henry Wingo.

The Sounders have an armada that for many squads in league play these will become a team hard to beat and not to mess with after the way this squad built around its needs.

The inclusion of new faces with youth and experience will complete this squad project envisioned by its manager and looking forward for contention and the always-coveted CCL shield that so far no American squad has ever won since its new format.

With their first leg in this international competition going against Salvadorian, side Santa Tecla playing away on Thursday 22, being the first test of fire for the Sounders going to their league opener at Banc of California Stadium to face newcomer LAFC.

For this 2018 the Seattle Sounders are considered as favorites to go all the way and with the philosophy its manager has instituted in his players, this squad is one serious contender to be fighting for the league shield.
