A new era in the helm at Falmer Stadium, as newcomer Graham Potter is looking forward to make an impact with the Seagulls with an impacting positive season.
As the Chris Hughes era is now a thing in the past, for manager Potter his aims are to overcome last season sorry state, of this squad near brush with relegation and finishing in a deplorable seventeen place.
Still this side is looking forward to new horizons and a better finish with a spot among the top ten spots in the overall table, but the way every season in Premiership shapes out, the challenges will abound in the Gulls.
For Albion the needs for this upcoming season will a be a plenty, among his first order is to see of this team a more dynamic in its game and more consistency to see a contender.
Not that they can be among the favorites to win it all but at least the idea of to keep their permanency among one of mission this season and close with a plus.
With a couple of domestic cup tournaments, the idea is to win one of those and earn an automatic berth in European competition, but realistically speaking is assuring a spot in Premiership will do for manager Potter.
However, the need to build a contender from scratch will not an easy job for the first year manager, looking at a club with a limited budget, the need to build this club will from its academy.
So far, in the season Albion has spent dearly in a couple of players to boost some of its most needed areas, being its attack, the arrival of Leandro Trossard from Genk a a mere 18 million pounds.
In addition of Taylor Richards from Manchester City with a 2.5 million pound cost and defender Matt Clarke from Portsmouth is among the novelties in Albion as Trossard and Richards for sure will boost the attack.
The way Trossard references from the Belgian league as a winger scoring 17 goals, is somehow what the Gulls need in their attack as well with Bruno retiring and Ben White of to Leeds.
The need of adding a couple of defensive backs will among the order of business for Albion before the market closes but will this club with their budget so limited, a loan of Reese James from Chelsea will do for now.
This club for sure with its newcomers for sure will surprise many but do not hold your breath to see them in the top spots or among the top ten, as another contested season coming, Albion will be fighting for its permanency.
A good run will mean a fourteenth place finish but a stellar one can come around tenth place will be the best finish this team can handle in the end.
