Harps, Blues and the Town on the plus, in the LOI recap

The Finn Harps are putting on a fight to stay put in the top flight of the League of Ireland, suddenly the Blue and White Army are seeing a turnaround, in addition of Waterford winning its match on Friday night.

With four matches scheduled n the weekend for the SSE, the Saturday games highlighted a streaking and confident Dundalk coming to Inchicore and delivering with a win as for Sligo held Bohemians for a share of spoils.

In Finn Park back in Ballybofey Park in Donegal County, the local Harps suddenly have found their best game, as for manager Ollie Horgan all of a sudden his side has found a winning touch.

For the White and Blue, their only goal came in the 66' minute via Harry Ascroft, uplifting the local Finn Harps over a  hardened Derry City looking to catch up third place Bohemians.

In the Bowl, the local Students put on a fight but fell short to an inspired and determined Waterford delivering the upset over the locals and sentencing them slowly to relegation.

As the visiting Blues opened the scoreboard early in the game with Zac Elbouzedi in the 8' minute, but College top player Liam Kerrigan tied it up at one in the 68' to end in a tie, it was Waterford Dean Walsh in the 86' that score the winner.

The Showgrounds were the Sligo Rovers had a tough foe to tackle in the visiting and third place Bohemians, the Dublin side thoughts of an easy result were denied by a determined Rovers.

As the Bit O' Red, put on the brakes on the Gypsies strikers and limited them to just a lone score in the 38' via penal from Danny Mandriou but Sligo even it up on the 45' via Micheal Barker.

In Inchicore colossus Richmond Park, the local Pats were hoping to get a favorable result over fatigued and overworked Dundalk coming from a tough match at home in the Euro qualifiers.

However the calculations for Saints manager Harry Kenny went all but good as the Town side came ready to deliver an upset at home and uplift their confidence with John Mountney goals 52' for the win.
