The Green and White Army went decided to net a win at Prague and these did it with style over a determined and hardened Czech Republic that deliver one of the utmost of upsets in the qualifiers with a defeat to England.
Not only these defeated the Three Lions but as well delayed their qualification to Europe’s grand fete of football, putting on hold and leaving their champagne on ice for the English National team.
Still a win today at home in Prague would been icing on the cake as well putting this Czech squad on cloud nine over their football project blueprint by manager Jaroslav Šilhavý doing the job and looking forward to continuing with the positives.
However, today in these so called friendly the lads of Michael O’ Neill deliver a majestic win as a visitor and uplifting their confidence regarding their upcoming match against the Netherlands at home on November 16.
With Paddy McNair on the double as well Jonny Evans goal, the Boys from the North got a deserved win and sending a ready message to the Netherlands and their loudmouth manager Ronnie Koeman of their desire of netting their EURO 2020 ticket.
For McNair scoring on the 9’ and later on the 40’ minute to add in what became the cushion goal after in the 23’ score from Evans, the Norn Iron was heading for a win with 45 minutes remaining in the second half to seal the deal.
For the locals with a couple of second half with back to back goals from Vladimir Darida 67’ coming as a substitute and a minute later another goal from Alex Kral to put the scores at 3-2, in the end the visitors defense step it up.
For this match manager O’ Neill sent a very defensive and offensive minded too formation to counter the Czechs attack, with a 3-5-2 formation that somehow almost gave up the hard work from McNair and Evans.
As the turnaround seen by the locals in the fatidic sixtieth minutes with two unanswered goals put the locals within reach of the visitors up on the scoreboard with just a single goal, in the end the Czech fell short in their rally.
Contrary to North Ireland showing signs of fatigue in the end these resolve the reaction of the locals nd stop it with a firm grip to hold on to the final score with a valuable win in the end uplifting the Norn Iron’s Boys confidence.
