In Kenny we trust,
those are the words that a whole squad cries its lungs out, after their Boss Stephen
Kenny once again lead them in back to back Airtricity League shields.
Those are the Boys of
the Cumann Peile Dhún Dealgan, who netted
their second league in a row, after last campaign winning the double in the EA
Sports Cup and the league trophies respectively and now they are on the verge
of giving Manager Kenny his fourth shield.
Two years at the helm
of the Lilywhites is what Stephen Kenny been on and so far Oriel Park halls are
getting a load of shields, being two of them as overall champions of the league
of Ireland!
By now Dundalk manager
and his squad who are ready to face off another European adventure and this
time will try top advance to the final group stage as a new challenge and not
be left in the edge as they did in last edition of UEFA.
Getting ready in their
upcoming compromise, that many will be seeing it as a Derby, with the Cork City
Leesiders trying to take home a piece of silverware and doing it with overall bragging
rigths this time, after losing the league title twice to Dundalk.
Now in the FAI Cup we
will see sparks fly and with lots of exciting and spectacular brand of football
with squads seeking in Dundalk its tenth
of these shields and Cork its third in its history on november 8th at Aviva
Stadium.
Still this sqaud will
indeed will have lots to celebrate and with a tie at one goal apiece with the Shamrock
Rovers at Tallaght Stadium, Dundalk celebrated their repeat and defense of
their title in a repetive fashion.
Bravo for Manager
Stephen Kenny and his armada in Gary Rogers; Chris Shields, Paddy
Barrett, Andy Boyle, Dane Massey; Richie Towell, Capitan Stephen O’Donnell,
Darren Meenan, Ronan Finn, Kurtis Byrne, Daryl Horgan, John Mountney, David
McMillan, Ciaran Kilduff , Shane Grimes, Paul Finnegan, Michael O’Connor,
Gabriel Sava.
As they state proudly
in Loth County We Are the Champions… Again! Very true Ladies and Gentleman as
for now if the Lilywhites win the FAI Shield now it has to conquer UEFA tourney
and to an unusual extent of making a good run.
If not trying to
reach to the always-elusive group
stage with the big boys of Europa, possibly play maybe against the giants of
the continent, and make an impact that Irish football is for real and can compete
with the big guns.
I do praise the Dundalk Lilywhites feats as
second year in row champions of the Airtricity League of Ireland with pure
determination and convincing fashion, Hail to the Victors!
