So close and no cigar
were the hopes of the Boys in Green after that go ahead goal from Roberto
Lewandoski in the 42’ that sealed the pass for his Polish White Eagles.
After a nice and historic
win a few days back over top rated Germany, many thought that after beating the
World Champions maybe the Poles were going to be a breeze or their optimism was
to play a bigger and effective role.
Not at Warsaw as Stadion
Narodowy witnessed the thousands of euphoric Poles, when their prodigal son
scored the go ahead goal on the net defended by Darren Randolph, despite the Greens
front men efforts to at least salvage a draw.
Still the loss didn’t
meant the end of the world or automatic elimination for the Republic of Ireland,
but a small glimpse of hope for Martin O’ Neill’s Boys is on the horizons with
a playoff spot to be played on November.
The draw and loss
both to Scotland really took a toll on the Green Army, if possibly a win and a
draw would earned the Irish the coveted automatic pass and be currently waiting
for a rival to seek one of the last spots for France.
If this happens,
maybe we can see both Ireland's playing together in Euro 16 as a first and see
who will reign and play the best football, but first the Green Army needs to
seal the deal.
At least one O’ Neill
passed the test and overcome the pressure, now the ball lies on the Green Army
destinies and the other O’ Neill, if they want to play across the pond, as
rivals of the likes of Croatia, Sweden or Denmark are looming in the horizon.
Making it a bit tough
but not difficult for Boss Martin O’ Neill to make use of his top notch strategies
along with assistant Roy Keane to give Ireland the joy of two back to back
Euros!
A bit of consistency
is needed in order to net the pass and play like the way with such personality
and defiance against a German National squad that was surprised of seeing the
inevitable from a squad so accustomed of being called their easy preys.
Challenging indeed,
is the upcoming mission for Ireland Boys to play with defiance and see his
backfield play as a brick wall to deter their upcoming rival’s, this is it,
only one opportunity the Boys in Green have to get to the promised land.
Now they wait and prepare
for one of their biggest challenges once again as they did it in the Trappatoni
era in that playoff, netting their pass in a formidable way, hopefully history
repeats itself.
This group can do it
as many will hail for the Boys in Green pass and French adventure with a Gaelic
phrase as Hail do na buachaillí i glas!
