Can the Boys in Green be among the sweet 16?

For starters, Martin O’ Neill the Republic of Ireland Boss is very aware of his squad dire situation they are immersed. Seeing once again their backs against the wall and with their ticket to the coveted round of 16 in danger of happening, still one the Green Army is known for, is its perseverance.

As the Boys in Green so far known as a squad that prevails when the going gets tough.
This time their pass is pending into the next rounds, as their rival in turn to play in Lille and against a very tough one to play on a one to one basis in the Azzurri Boys of Italy. If they get a win, this will be another miracle or putting in evidence the spirit of persistence that reigns in this squad state of mind.

As one thing we saw in the Republic of Ireland during the EURO qualifiers was their drive of getting into this competition whatever the cost, and seeing them in the canvas and going for the count, they never gave up an inch. Being one of them that meritorious and raucous win over the Germans that at the end they ended up playing in those especial playoffs to net the last two spots.

After beating Bosnia Herzegovina, this squad was for real and did the impossible by beating the odds of getting into one of Europe’s most important events in football, the Republic of Ireland was in EURO and for the first time in history both squads from Ireland were to participate.

Although the odds currently are not in their favor after that horrible start with a 1-1 tie on opening day against Sweden considered and almost feat if that infamous, own goal netted the draw and in their second match against Belgium that horrendous 3-0 score.

Many could said that this squad was out after their next match now considered vital against Italy is one that will net the pass into the promised land of the Boys in Green, still the feat looks a bit difficult but not impossible for O’ Neill and his Boys.

As a glimpse of hope surrounds the Green Army Manager as with loads of optimism, he states his Boys readiness and playing the role of motivator and physiologist at the same time, maybe we can see another miracle in the works for the Boys from Erin.

For Martin O’ Neill his squad underdog status is something he has already accustomed with this label, but one thing this man has a sheer determination and positive outlook ahead of his squad making it into the next rounds.

Also by injecting a more positive perspective to his players and possibly making the necessary moves in some vulnerable areas of the likes of his defense, midfield and his frontal attack, that at the end these changes can make a whole loads of difference.

Especially if they want to perform and one of a kind match and offer an all-around spectacle at the end and with their resolve and grit of steel the Republic of Ireland once again can shut down many mouths of its detractors and critics.

Among one of those accomplishments will be of making history in the annals of the Irish Football Federation of beating two powerhouses in the same year as well in important competitions. A win will give this squad a lot of momentum going ahead into the next rounds of EURO as well for the World Cup qualifiers.

This believes they can do many, many feats if they put their will and spirits together, something their Boss Martin O’ Neill believes and stands firmly by his Boys in Green side to be in the elite sixteen.
