How Bout Those Amazing Goats!

A squad that was considered a sorry one in Major League Soccer circles- suddenly is turning into an overnight contender in the Western Division.

I’m talking about those surprising Chivas USA squad, that from nowhere, are embarked on a marvelous winning streak.

After all, this squad is always been in the news, after Jorge Vergara a controversial and well known Mexican businessman, sold out its interests of this club to MLS.

And by currently waiting for a new ownership if not a new home, Chivas USA is generating all of the makings of a stellar and prolific campaign at its venue in Carson, California.

So far, this club four game winning streak has been lauded by many experts as well seen carefully by its division rivals, looking for the always coveted postseason positions.

With a record currently of 6-7-5 and with 23 points in the stands, this club currently is on 7th place just two points behind the Vancouver Whitecap’s, which hold the 5th and the last position to make the postseason.

For now Manager Wilmer Cabrera is taking it easy and doesn’t want to be overconfident with his club, but by taking all of the necessary precautions along with a conservative approach into their next compromises.

Still his desires and push to the top, along with his squad along its triumphant initial eleven- makes this chap to continue with his plan to bring this club the respect it deserves as well its push to the top.

By netting important wins over a belligerent and top of the line squad in Real Salt Lake, San Jose Quakes, Montreal Impact and their last accomplishment playing at always difficult BC Place- where the Goats scored an important and convincing win.

Oh yeah, beating a hardened Caps at home and silencing a sold out BC Place, the American version of the Rojiblancos or Red and white, are becoming an overnight sensation in league circles.

Very well with an initial eleven that has seen a fired up striker in Erick Torres scoring in his fifth consecutive match as well its 13th goal of the campaign.

Also seeing a midfield headed by Newcomer Agustin Pelleteri and his countryman in former Sounder sensation Mauro Rosales, these two Argentinians are contributing as expected.

In its defensive backfield headed by Carlos Bocanegra a veteran of a thousand battles and former Ranger from the Scottish Premiership and Team USA veteran, as a leader of the backfield.

At the end the Goats are looking positively good with their latest series of encouraging results- still this squad is among one in the league, with one of the worst in attendance at Stub Hub Center.

Hopefully this winning streak is a start of something wonderful coming to its venue at Carson, California- along of a start of a top of the line campaign and return to glory.
