A Quiet Longford Town Making a Silent Statement at the League Top

Once again the chaps from the Cumann Peile Bhaile Longfort are making all sort of headlines, very well making their swift moves towards the league top.

Yes, De Town and its Manager Tony Cousins are making all sorts or noise in this edition of the Airtricity League of Ireland along with a very dynamic playing initial eleven making all sorts of statements!

A nice win over the hot streaked and super Bohs- suddenly saw a Town squad looking mighty serious in their efforts to reach the top positions in league play.

So far this squad is seeded in sixth place and looking ahead for the show in the always coveted European positons were their aims are suddenly a place and play with the best.

With a solid sixth place position and moving forward, maybe first place held currently by the Lilywhites will be out of context, but a fourth or third place can still be for grabs.

As their match at Carlisle Stadium over a modest Bray Wanderers is a sign that this squad is for real and playing for much higher grounds in this edition.

In both wins the name of Ayman Ben Mohamad is becoming a synonymous of netting the winning goal as well delivering in the clutch for the final win.

In both of their matches the Town has seen as a dominant entity with an overall passion of the ball and controlling the field in the majority of the time, Longford continuance of this impressive game, for sure this squad can do it.

Still the there’s cups to play and other challenges ahead very well the league has a few months of play until its closing, one person that doesn’t seem to mind at all and takes everything that comes his way and is Boss Tony Cousins.

At the end the best win was over those Gypsies who after defeating two big clubs in their past matches, De Town really shine with its boys and make them pay dearly with two goals from David o’ Sullivan and the go ahead of who else Ayman Ben Mohamed

If this club is on a roll, who are very right and correct maybe they can earn a shield or two or make themselves notable at the end of this campaign, what will Manager Cousins will gives us as a surprise or hiding ace under his sleeve.

For now Longsford Town is making all sorts of notable moves, one match at a time and very well setting their aims to deliver more glory to its followers back at City Calling Stadium in Longford Town.
