Making
strides and moving on up, is the motto for the Boys from Tallaght after staging
a remarkable performance against their rival in turn in the eliminatory of the UEFA
Europa League.
Considered
as the second best of soccer events due to its importance in the UEFA family of
tournaments, the Europa League really shows a certain heat in all of its qualifying
rounds from all its participants trying to get to the Promised Land.
As many
see it under the shadow of the always prestigious Champion’s League, this
tourney really shows off the best of each league in Europe has to offer, regardless
how small the league or nation each squad represents it.
With a
belligerent playing and very offensive minded Shamrock Rovers who showed up to
play in front of their faithful and didn’t disappoint any of them.
After eliminating
Luxembourg’s pride in Progrès Niederkorn with a convincing 3-0 rout and with a double of
goals from David Waters and one from Dave Webster, the Hoops really moved up a notch
in the second round.
The Rovers destinies are already placed with Norwegian league side
Odds Ballklub, considered a tough and
not so walk in the park for the chaps managed by Pat Fenlon.
That’s why
the Rovers Boss is counting on another wonderful performance from his group in
their quest to obtain a very positive result as their condition of locals being
in his club overall advantage.
With a win
and another wondrous performance as the Rovers performed over the Luxembourg squad
and if this Irish squad can repeat in their style of play once again, possibly their
boss can start planning a third round set of strategies.
Still they
have to play their first round on July 16th and move to Skagerak Arena
back in Skien to play round two and were the Shamrock Rovers really hope to
already have a comfortable lead over their Viking foes.
And a very
dynamic game offered by the Norwegian side Oddsrane and Boss Dag-Epliev Fagermo
who will make the best that his chaps can become a certain nightmare for the
Emerald Isle squad and stops the Rovers streak cold in its tracks.
So far the
Shamrock Rovers and UCD are the only two Airtricity League representatives
after Saint Patrick’s and Cork City were eliminated by Skonto Riga from Latvia
and KR of Reykjavik of Iceland respectively.
Very well
the Dundalk Lilywhites seeded in the second round of the prestigious Champions
League will prepare to face for their match against tough FC Bate Borisov from
Bulgaria.
Slowly but
surely are the goals of the Shamrock Rovers Manager Pat Fenlon in his quest to
net a pass to play against the big guns of Europe after they show off a dominance
of its upcoming rivals in turn that in the third stage doesn’t look easy but
not difficult.
