UCD Living the Dream by Playing the Big Guns of UEFA

Last campaign after a series of struggles and odd results in that relegation- promotion matches in the two legged playoffs- that saw the misfortunes of UCD moving to Airtricity’s not so popular First Division.

That was then and now is a different story in how the Students are suddenly making a lot of noise in Europe’s top notch tourney only shadowed in its importance by the always prestigious Champions League.

The UEFA Europa League playoffs isn’t a walk in the park especially if you’re considered a second tier club as for the UCD chaps so far they are doing wonders in their quest of seeking the ultimate of glories in this affair.

Just this event just overshadowed by Champion’s League, it houses the best of Europe’s leagues and its squad’s determined to reach to the Group stages were they will fight for their honor and seek  the long eared shield.

This considered another important shield to adorn any of these clubs halls, in case they make it all the way to the finals and winning it with an all-around style.

In the case of UCD’s feat looking like a version of Samson versus Goliath, were the Students are so far considered underdogs and with nothing to lose if eliminated but a lot to gain if they continue in their ultimate of quests.

After the UCD first obstacle conquered by eliminating Luxembourg’s top squad in FC 91 Dudelange, by surviving with pure determination and resilience that earned them a very valuable pass to the second rounds.

Here in the second of their challenges comes one called SK Slovan Bratislava, were the College will have to visit at always difficult Pacienky Stadium in Bratislava to a club known for its hardened stance and tough Sky Blues or Belasis are known for.

Still for Students Manager Collie O’ Neill will be business as usual and back to the drawing boards in his quest of gaining the ultimate of glories by overcoming this upcoming challenge and advance to the third and last knockout of rounds.

Focusing once again in reigniting the boy’s aspirations once again and put their minds and sights on the Group Stages as the ultimate of prizes as the first of achievements- were anything can happen regardless of the competition around them.

Something that this club so far is looking ready and poise for, ask that to their Boss Collie O’ Neill already thinking of the strategies to seek and put in play in order to net an important result favorable for the Students once again.

As their condition of visitors the Cumann Peile Choláiste Na Hollscoile, Baile Átha Cliath or bettor known as UCD can make the cut and live dream all the way to the final stages, Dea buachaillí Ádh mór!
