An all-around madhouse possessed the House
that Ruth built, these referring in baseball terms of course, but in soccer- yesterday’s
match was to be considered a total shootout
at the OK Corral.

Very well claim another edition of what many
see in this heated international or cross border matchup as another way to call
it a serious and disputed Derby in Major League Soccer Annals.
Still the match had the looks of one on one
rivalry between NYCFC Spanish top gun David Villa versus Toronto’s Italian sensation
Sebastian Giovinco whom both claim their place among the immortal’s of soccer with
a superb performance.
Busy indeed, was the way to describe the way
how both goalies in NYCFC Josh Saunders and TFC Chris Konopka performed all
afternoon long under a barrage of shoots done to each one posts as well seeing
how disoriented ref was awarding PK left and right.
Being NYCFC showing of its home field
advantage, they opened the score in the 17’ minute via a goal from David Villa
and in the 29’ they went up the score board with after the a missed PK by David
Villa and TFC defender pushed the ball in its own posts for the 2-0 and go ahead
goal.
It’s when David Villa on the 65’ minute
came back and equalize it at 3-3 all and with a lot of time left for each squad
to try to cement the victory with a go ahead goal, but with a determined TFC Marky
Delgado that put the go ahead on the 82’.
Once again NYCFC Patrick Mullins came up with
the opportune shoot in the 84’ minute for the draw and final score of the match
that totaled eight goals in an afternoon of a very offensive and top rated football.
