Give this Derby to Cork City seizing the league top

Cork City 1, Dundalk 0
Turners Cross, Cork City

The Leesiders are becoming a tough squad to mess at home and today these delivered three golden points at Turners Cross over a hardened Dundalk FC. FOR John Caulfield Rebel Army he is making a bold statement in league play with a simple, were back.

For Cork City winning and the Lilywhites tying this became their opportunity to put a two way tie in the league top with 28 points each one and today these put three away from them and their archrivals De Town.

When these two squads play, we are aware of this matches being an all-around contest for this dynamic and fight both initial elevens put in the field seeking to get the best of each other and netting at the end that cherished win.

Today’s win put the City squad alone in first place with 31 units versus 28 of Dundalk.

Still we have a lot of league left and many more matches and whenever these two meet up again as always will be a total showdown of might of who is the top dominator in this campaign and if the Lilywhites can dethrone the defending champions.

For both squads manager they knew of the importance this match had and the victor would get a highly dose of momentum and confidence ahead of their upcoming league compromises, as City after losing earlier to Dundalk and Waterford. Now they are back to business and getting ready for the defense of their hard fought shield.

Disputed, you bet as both squads looking forward to exercise their authority and dominance throughout the course of the whole match at the end this match won by sheer strategy and all the right moves.

As Cork City and its manager John Caulfield, delivering a valuable win and stopping the Lilywhites drive that at times they were almost deliver mayhem to the posts defended by goalkeeper Mark McNulty. That at the end the man deliver with a notable stops and saves to preserve the win and delivering it with a clean sheet to continue his perfect mark at home of not conceding a score.

Still the locals were to make their case heard with a score in the 59 minute via an opportune Gearoid Morrisey to deliver the lone score of the match and with a fine defensive game that kept the visitors at bay.

As the danger loom in the City area, the perseverance of its defenders rapidly extinguished the Lilywhites rally after John Mountney and Ronan Murray tried their luck from distance for the Leesiders to deliver in what seemed to be an important win.
