Major league Soccer
very proudly has its representative in CONCACHAMPIONS League- by seeing how one
of its Canadian squad’s, is on the brink of making all around history and
seeking its first shield of this event.
Yes the Montreal
Impact did the ultimate feat at San Jose, Costa Rica in front of a
hostile and vociferous sold out venue at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto,
supporting its boys in Red and Black, who tried in vain to equal the cartoons
as well pull and upset at home.
For the joy of their
fans, who showed off its colors all over the match as well with big letters in
the stands that read, “If There’s Life let’s Give in the Field of Play”- as
well seeing how the La Liga as they this squad is nicknamed, for their appointment
with destiny.
This squad tried to
stage a comeback as well attacked all evening long and its ninety minutes of
play, how they took advantage of every second and minute to fabricate a series
of plays, which the heroics in the Impact backfield repelled time after time to
the shock of the Black and Red fans.
Still the local
Manudos initial eleven, really showed off its insistence and persistence to the
goal posts defended by an alerted and effort ridden Evan Bush who really earned
his pay on a stressed day under the net.
It’s when for the
Montreal Impact Jack Mc Inerney opened up the scoreboard with a 1-0 nice shoot
that sent them with an advantage at halftime, on the locals side coming in the
46’, yes those hardened locals through Pablo Gabas- tied the match at one goal
apiece to open up the second half and give some breathing room to their cause.
Once again after an
exchange from both squad staying to net the go ahead goal- for the visiting Impact
and the one to keep the locals in the hunt and hopes alive, Pablo Gabas from a
nice angle and a corner kick to defeat Evan
Bush again with an impossible shot for the 2-1 score in the 60’ minute.
But in the 72’ the
Montreal Impact saw its pride and a bit shaken off- with a nice shoot inside the
area with a determined and ambitious Andres Romero, the Gars were definite winners
with this shot that bend in all of Alajuelense stadium foundations as well silencing it for good.
Very well this score turned
out to be the winner and the one that saved the Impact of being sent home empty
handed to Saputo Stadium, which at the end turned out to be the history making
goal and the savior.
Still through LDA’s striker
Allen Guevara in the 79’ for a 3-1 score and a global of 3-3, very well
culminating the feat that at the end was a bit short when Jonathan Mc Donald in
compensation time 90+3 exactly-put the fourth goal, which at the end didn’t help
at all to their losing cause.
For the visiting
Montreal Impact who with these two goals earned its pass with the advantage
held at Stade Olympique- as well kudos to is Manager Frank Klopas that really
put on display of determination in his chaps.
These who never stopped
fighting play after play and although the Costa Rican's never stopped in their desire
to snatching this match out of the Montreal boys, the Impact Manager strategies
were the definitive recipe for success.
As well putting an initial
eleven with an all-around personality and that never gave up on their desire
for excellence and now prepare themselves to face off another giant in Club
America from Mexico who really earned his pass in a convincing manner.
The ball is definitively
on Montreal Impacts side as well being a sentimental favorite to make history
as the first Canadian squad playing in their first ever CONCACHAMPIONS League
final and setting a date with history.
A win will be a grand
achievement by the Montreal squad as well send a message that Major League Soccer
and its squads are ready for business and can play anyone and show off their
development since this league inception as a real one. Allez ET Bonne Chance
