The Boys from Oriel
Park are looking forward to a plentiful campaign of wins and looking for more
shields as well trying to win the treble in this edition of the Airtricity
League of Ireland.
Just to let you know
that Lilywhites have netted two back-to-back league shields and in this
campaign are looking for another one for the records!
With three matches
played so far in this campaign and three convincing wins, the lads of the Cumann Peile DhĂșn Dealgan are looking
once again for the ultimate of glories.
Very well with another
hot start, the boys managed by Stephen Kenny, who has made this squad an
overall winner, as last campaign not only the league shield but a five some of
trophies from various competitions.
Including the FAI Cup,
Leinster Senior Cup, Presidents Cup and netting the prestigious Award given in
the Republic of Ireland to the sorting association or squad in the RTE Sports
Team of the Year Award.
I must state and an impressive
collection of shields and feats that so far have made this club a bit invincible in league play, this campaign will see a new challenger in the
league top after seeing a failed Cork City FC.
As the Shamrock Rovers
of Manager Pat Fenlon will be their main rivals in disputing the league top,
still for the Lilywhites Boss Kenny, its business as usual as well seek that
elusive spot in the UEFA Champions League.
As they say third time
is the charm and hopefully the Lilywhites Manager can have a good tourney and
being seeded in the second round, one thing that manager Kenny has lots of
faith on his Boys- that can pass the third and those tough playoffs rounds to
reach to the group stage.
That's one of the
Dundalk FC squad aims in seeking that always elusive and difficult pass into the
main stage of Champions League and play with the big guns of Europe and show their mettle
and success as Irelands utmost champions.
Still the road for Champions
League will be one paved with lots of obstacles and other hungry European squads seeking their pass being a tough test for the Louth County residents.
So far Dundalk with
valuable wins over recently promoted Wexford Youths, Finn Harps and Bray
Wanderers, the outlook is so positive that once again the Lilywhite fans are
dreaming of a another banner campaign from their Boys in white.
Nothing is impossible
for this squad so poised to repeat as league champions as well make an
impacting participation in Europe's most prestigious event in its Champions’
League.
At the end, the Dundalk
FC squad will be one to follow closely and see its display of wonderful and top
skilled football that earned the the ultimate of glories in the Airtricity
League of Ireland.
Once again Oriel Park
will be ready to see its prodigal sons net another stellar if not successful
campaign under Stephen Kenny attentive and wise directions and proud representative of
the Republic of Ireland professional football.
