The Shamrock Rovers Looking to Return to its Glory Days

After a couple of trophy less campaigns and barely keeping up in the European spots with such a hard fought hunger, the Hoops are trying hard to return to their old triumphant forms.

Here we have a squad once almighty and dominant in the Airtricity League of Ireland, now is struggling to keep on with the growing competition from its league foes, especially their Dublin City neighbors.

Still for Manager Pat Fenlon leaving the past behind and now focusing in new horizons and goals to be meet with his Hoops, this campaign hopefully they can be  on a tough fight and try to put on a show in the grounds of Tallaght.

It looks like this campaign will be one challenging one for the Rovers, seeking the ultimate of challenges as well achieve some much-needed shields among one of them the league trophy not won from quite some time.

So far so good in this campaign for the Rovers who are looking good in their league three starts by netting important wins and tied currently for first place with the defending champions the Dundalk FC Lilywhites.

The road for success in this association will be one tough test as the Hoops situated in the Europa League knockout rounds will be a bit of a handful for their Boss Fenlon in sorting their league and European tourney compromises.

With three win over Finn Harps, Sligo Rovers and Wexford Youths, three wins and a loss against the Pats in the first ever Dublin Derby is getting Manager Pat Fenlon back to the drawing board in seeing what went wrong in this match.

Something that the Shamrock Rovers are looking forward is getting the best ever results in the Derbies with neighboring Pats and Bohs, these latter ones a bit dominant in the past editions of the Dublin Derbies.

One thing for sure this squad is poised and determined for the best of performances in this edition, very well looking forward to a successful campaign full of many satisfactions and lifting many shields possible from several competitions.

Another challenge the Hoops are getting ready is the UEFA Europa alongside with Saint Patrick’s Athletic and Cork City in the group of 98 squads, the Dubliners are ready to display and elegant Irish style of football.

Maybe it can put them in the next rounds and aiming for the pass to the always coveted and elusive for Irish squads the group stage, one major achievement will be for the Rovers if they reach these levels.

This can be the year of the Shamrock Rovers reaching the confines of excellence as well reaching for the stars and all the ultimate of glories, just like old times.
