One match at a time is
the attitude taken by Manager Martin O’ Neill and his Republic of Ireland squad,
after netting two back-to-back victories over their group foes.
As results speak for
themselves, the Republic of Ireland chaps are not taking any chances in its
qualifiers to net a ticket to the World Cup in Russia 2018.
By taking advantage
of their group minnows, both Georgia and Moldova not seen as a direct threat, but
still the outcome could been a bit disastrous for the Green Army if they would
let their guards down.
With these week
results and notable wins by scoring four goals and receiving just one by a sort
of a blink by the Irish defensive side, the Boys in Green situated comfortably
in first place with seven points and despite tied with Serbia.
The goal deferential
is in favor of the Serbs who won their match over Austria, and is giving them a
certain edge in the overall table in Group D, over the Irish side.
After that stunning
win at Aviva on the course of the end of the week over Georgia, when Captain
Seamus Coleman score uplifted the Irish side to a notable win and despite the
efforts, many voices criticized Manager O’ Neill side, for its mediocre result.
This Sunday the Green
Army showed off its mettle and class with a one of a kind win over a weak and
modest Moldovan National squad and as a visitor, this considered like a one of
a kind win as well injection of optimism ahead of their next compromise.
Still the momentum
and confidence boost for the Emerald Island squad ahead their next match on
November 12, against Das Team Austria at the colossus in Meiereistraße 7 or
better known as Ernst- Happel Stadion.
Getting back to the
Moldova match celebrated at Stadionul Zimbra, Chisisnau, Moldova to a half
empty venue and despite the local team displaying a poor football and lackluster
performances, still the supporters of the
local squad went to show their support.
In the match two
all-around heroes raised to the occasion and put their squad in the fight and
injecting momentum as well netting six points of gold in two matches, we can
state that this was a perfect week for Irish football.
Getting back to the
match and its brilliance by the Boys from Erin one of a kind performance, that
at the end will be a shoot of optimism and a sort of confidence booster before
their November match, so far they are showing a lot of potential.
As O’Neill Boys
opened the hostilities with a nice counter attack play when Wes Hoolahan filtrated
a pass into the Moldovan defenders for Shane Long immediate reaction to just
put the ball in the back of the locals post for the 1-0 with just 2 minutes in
the official watch.
Still the locals via Igor
Bugaiev did managed to get the first goal of the tournament for the Moldovans
as well considered as the honor one that the locals forward managed to put beat
Irelands defender Shane Duffy and its keeper Darren Randolph.
Returning after intermission
the Boys in Green continue their mastery and total dominance of this match, although
the score showed the opposite with a draw that this score could stayed the same
if the Moldovans stayed their ground.
At the end, another
hero emerged from the Republics of Ireland initial eleven in James Mc Clean who
played with such courage and emotion that at the end became the difference for
his squad after netting two goals in the 69th and 76th minutes.
As for Manager Martin
O’ Neill netting a high score for his strategies along his eleven in the field
that netted three points of gold and six for the whole weekend to cap a memorable
series of performances from the Boys in Green.
So far the Republic
of Ireland has been absent for the World Cup stages for 16 years and being in
161st ranked by FIFA, Manager Martin O’ Neill has a lot to work on, so
far he has delivered this nation with a consecutive Euro appearance and now the
his main goal is to qualify.
It looks tough and
impossible but at the end the North Ireland native and Boss of the Republics of
Ireland can and will deliver for the Foireann peile
náisiúnta Phoblacht na hÉireann.
