Another exciting and
disputed Merseyside Derby is in the books, after seeing how a resilient and
persistent visiting Liverpool squad, getting the best from an opportune Sadio
Mane, who became the hero of this match.
From start to finish,
we saw two gladiators fighting for the best and opportune moment to break the
deadlock and open up the score in a match that was not going to see a goal fest
from both squads playing a sort of defensive or conservative match.
After a total sellout
at the Toffees venue Goodison Park, a win was for both clubs an utmost priority
and everybody in attendance were going to be exposed to an interesting
afternoon of pure and exciting football.
Seeing how two
initial elevens, displaying all sorts of exciting and close plays that put both
of their defensive backfield into overdrive and earned their pay for the
afternoon, after denying one another the chance of seeing their boxes defeated.
Very well the tension
escalated when a careless and purposely seen play from Roy Barkley that slide
onto Jordan Henderson and leaving Jürgen Kloop breathless and with the thought
of losing another one of his stellar players in the DL.
It was just a close
one and after the melee between these two squads, venting their frustrations
and seeing how an unjust call from the referee of just showing a yellow card to
the Toffees player.
As many of the Reds
followers in attendance and Boss, showed off their discontent and frustrations
to the official, for being a bit indifferent or soft towards the local’s player
not getting an automatic red card.
Still after the
match, continue its course, the Reds in injury time via Sadio Mane in the 94th
minute scored the go ahead and winning goal to place the Liverpool squad in solid
second place and return to the winning column.
Very well, continue
the dominance of the Liverpool Boys in the always-contested Merseyside Derby.
For the School of
Science Boss Ronnie Koeman, once again seeing his hard luck fell prey on his
squad, now it is up for him to turn thing around once again for his Toffees,
after seeing his squad succumb once again in another Merseyside Derby.
In the opposite, for the
Reds Boss Jürgen Kloop, this win meant a lot for his squad and injects them
with plenty of confidence ahead in the remaining first half and the upcoming
one, that reinforces their quest of going for the overall league title.
After all, they are
the overall favorites and despite seeing a resilient and insistent Chelsea
Blues atop the league table and with six points ahead of the Liverpool squad,
these will honor their moniker of not walking alone at the end.
With some key players in the DL, for the
German Manager is business as usual and using his men in the bench and these
delivering as expected, he really is delivering results and to a squad not
seeing the league shield for quite some time.
Very well, this man
after reviving the careers of many players that in his contemporary era became
a bit disappointing, now these are delivering and looking good alongside their
squad become an all-around contender until the end.
Still the Reds will
need to win all of their matches and see the central London Boys stumble in the
future to make a leap atop the league and at its end try to lift the desired
and coveted Barclays Premiership Shield.
For Jürgen Kloop and his Liverpool FC Reds this
is it!
