The fairy tale that is turning into a horror show

Suddenly the fairy tale of a campaign buried in the past and now is looking like the little house of horrors for the residents at King Power Stadium, the Leicester City Boys.

All of a sudden, this campaign has turned sour for this Leicestershire squad that all of a sudden instead of defending their hard fought shield, now they are battling the demons of relegation, after last campaign setting the ultimate of miracles.

After winning the league with shining fashion, the Foxes are now playing without any ambition and drive to succeed or defend their hard fought title won in last campaign.

For Claudio Rainieri despite of showing off a spectacular Champions League run, now he is struggling in Premiership, were it counts the most and suddenly seeing a sad and true reality of being the defending champions.

Suddenly immersed in a bad slump that needs immediate attention from their Italian Boss in making a miracle come the end of this first half to inject some optimism ahead of the second round were they need to improve their campaign.

Imagine if they win the coveted and prestigious Champions League and they are going to the abyss of relegation and play next campaign in the not so popular Championship League, when last campaign they won it all.

What an irony, right!

So far in this campaign the Leicester City bunch has won only three matches with four draws and seven losses, that has put this squad in fifteenth place with just thirteen points and a lead of just two points over relegation prone Sunderland and Hull City and four over Swansea City in the bottom.

Still the prospects of leveling this campaign does not look at all promising with a match next week against Manchester City at home, where they can possibly be inspired with a whole venue behind them.

Still they are facing a feisty squad in the Sky Blues next week.

Being a defending champion is not an easy task, but the City squad did not ask to win it, they just performed a one of a kind and all around campaign that caught the attention of the whole soccer world and became an inspiration for many squads around the globe.

With some of its notable players in this eleven that made history in last campaign, now they are struggling to make ends meet with a Jamie Vardy and Ryad Mahrez not putting the notable game they are accustomed.

What can Rainieri do to turn things around for his group, to bring back the hunger lost and restore the confidence they had last campaign and so far lost in every match played without showing any conviction or drive to excel?

How can the Emperor turn his troops around to at least close this campaign among the top five of the EPL and once again be in Premiership’s elite as they supposed to in this campaign?

Once again the Foxes need to rely on their unity and brethren among themselves to turn the tides in this campaign and see a revival in the residents from the colossus of Filbert Way to try to reach the top five spots in this league and at least try to net a European spot.

Still there is quite a way for this league to end and time for sure is on the Foxes squad to make it happen and stop this skid, as well, balance both their campaign in both Premiership and Champions League were Emperor Rainieri is looking forward to another Cinderella showoff.

For Leicester City, this is the time to rekindle with its initial eleven to make things happen, as nothing  handed in a golden tray for the defending champions that so far have not shown any of its mettle that made them the league overall champions.

Very well, there is no such thing than an easy foe and with Sunderland, a squad not considered a top one, still these can sure play the roles of spoiler and derail any of the so-called giants of this league with a horrible and humiliating loss.

The turn was for the Leicester City squad to digest the shortfall.

At the end, the Leicester City should forget last year fairy tale and this time they should focus in  making a strong run towards the top spots and doing it in fighting mode for their survival in Premiership.

It certainly does not look easy for the Leicester City Boys, being a defending champion takes its tolls and has a price to pay, will they turn it around and save their campaign with a bang, still this is to be seen at the end!

The question is, will the Foxes rebound and be among the top five elite of Premierships or become relegated with their indifference towards their league compromises, as the honeymoon is over, back to reality for the Leicester City squad.
