An awakening in Rose City

Despite the notable absences in the Portland initial eleven, at the end their services not needed as this squad stepped up its act and voila, defeated a serious conference foe in the Dallas FC.

As the Lone Star squad known for its spectacular and dynamic football, considered in league circles as lethal and a serious one to meddle with, tonight for Oscar Pareja and his bunch was no match for an inspired Faneando Adi double.

As the Portland Timbers after netting a valuable, win over a tough Dallas initial eleven.
The Portland Boys played one serious game all evening long from an emerging defensive side and a reunion once again in center back with Olum and Miller that proved very valuable for Caleb Porter.

This move became necessary, after the Timbers captain Liam Ridgewell had to leave the match due to a quad injury.

The arrival of Amobi Okugo in the lineup became another successful boost for the PTFC pretenses in the field, he taking the role in the middle as the defensive midfielder and Lawrence Olum assung the role of center back.

This formula proved to be a lethal and sour one for the visiting FC and stopping cold in its tracks all of their efforts and strategies planned by its Boss Oscar Pareja, that at the end he just saw in disbelief how his offensive attack was overwhelmed.

In addition, of seeing of two of Portland’s center backs left the game with injuries after Roy Miller collision with Maxi Urruti as well earlier Ridgewell doing the same.

Still the game saw an improvement in the whole of Portland performance as well its attack for the best.

With a defensive backfield making an extraordinary performance like no other and stopping the scoring machine of the Texans, it put in evidence that the changes made by the Cheesmaster became the icing on the cake.

With Zarek Valentin taking advantage of the opportunity given by Caleb Porter as a starter and in every match he, shows up his skills and experience as one important play were he cleared the ball away from the line in what many almost called a FC goal.

That preserved another back-to-back clean sheet for Timbers goalie Jake Gleeson.

Very well, netting back-to-back wins home, now it is time to think ahead of their upcoming compromise on Tuesday at Seattle for their Open Cup match-up before these 2 Derby.

And league matches on the road against Colorado and Minnesota.

However, this evening belonged to Adi the man that broke his scoring drought with a double, with a play deflected in midfield, Sebastian Blanco put the ball in Adi feet and entering the area despite both defender and keeper pressuring.

Minute 32 is when his score by a simple push, sends the whole of Providence Park into a frenzy.

No later than the second half a wonderful goal by Diego Valeri the Andean using his one of a kind technique was called off by the referee calling it hand ball.

As the second goal was when a nice play with Dairon Aspirilla passing to a well-placed Diego Chara he dummies the play so the ball reaches Faneando feet to crown the play and score the go ahead goal in the 72.

At the end, the PTFC showed up how can stepped up its might and play with an all-around hunger to win and tonight that was put in evidence by an inspired initial eleven sent by the Cheesmaster  Caleb Porter.
