The Boys are back and
with style after posting their third consecutive win and sending a clear message
to league leaders Cork City of their intentions of making a jump to the top.
With fifteen points
over Dundalk FC, the Rebel Army seats comfortably in the top of the league
standings, but with a revival seen lately by Stephen Kenny bunch and playing
like their old days, we may have a race in the end.
Still the Lilywhites
are playing a one of a kind football and with a win today over decimated Galway
United at home made their faithful to dream once again of fourth league shield and another successful European
run.
With their upcoming
Champions League knockout match at home on July 12 against Norwegian side
Rosenburg BK, the Lilywhites are ready for another run to the group stage and
this time they hope for to stay in Champions play.
As the hosts to be
were on hand at Oriel Park to observe its foe and grounds, these had a vision
of the rival they have ahead their clash in this prestigious European
competition.
One thing to applaud Kenny
and his bunch is the push and drive to play this match with just two days rest
after their weekend win over the Finn Harps with a comfortable 4-0 rout and
today another 2-0 win today.
So far, with twelve
goals scored in three games and same number of wins, the Lilywhites are back in
their winning ways and looking like the defending champions and returning to
their one of a kind and amazing game.
The heroes of this
match were Dane Massey scoring in the 15minute, later in the second half came
Patrick McEleney to seal the deal, and of course a much valuable win to make a
move towards first place.
Now their minds are
set for next Friday match against their closest chaser and third place holder
Bray Wanderers coming to Oriel Park and pay them a visit after these are so far
in a two game winning streak and looking unbeatable.
The Gulls looking
forward to gain some ground on Dundalk FC and trying to keep their distance from a
persistent Shamrock Rovers squad within a point of the Bray squad, these have
the need to win.
One thing for sure
the Lilywhites of Town will up and ready to face off a resilient and surprising
Bray squad looking forward to a stellar campaign.
At the end, the
Lilywhites are playing a one of a kind football and looking forward to another dream
of a run in Europe as well looking for a Cork City stumble to catch them up if
not catapult their way up the league top.
Stephen Kenny and his
Dundalk FC Boys, So far looking ready to any major challenge in the league of
Ireland and looking forward to net another league shield, this team is for real.
