Just a simple tune up
for the Shamrock Rovers on this weekend of play in the Airtricity League of
Ireland with a rout over a decimated Drogheda United not seeing the light of
day.
I mean an all-around
display of might that Stephen Bradley and his Hoops put on the field today.
With a four goal
trashing over a visiting Drogs, the Hoops are looking forward to their date
next Thursday at Samsungvöllur
in Garoabaer in Iceland for their first leg match and later returning to
Tallaght on July 6 for the second leg.
A four-goal fest the
Hoops delivered via Gary Shaw on the 46, Trevor Clarke 63 and substitutes James
Doona 81 and Aaron Bolger 91 were enough for the local Dubliners for their
Europe pregame tune up on the 29 of June.
Despite the Rovers
keeper Tomer Chencinski losing the clean sheet on the 70 via lone
goal by Sean Brennan, the local have played a one of a kind defensive game and
dominated in the rest of this match both defensively and offensively.
What an amazing match
for the Shamrock Rovers initial eleven, after these showed off their readiness
for their upcoming international adventure as well looking forward to a
successful one.
If the Dublin Boys play
as they did today in the UEFA tournament, this squad is ready for big and
spectacular challenges ahead in this campaign after a slow start and now in
league play they are leveling their game.
As the Rovers are
looking forward to catapult into third place, currently being in sole
possession of the Bray Wanderers and the Dublin Boys behind by just a point.
So far, the league of
Ireland with Dundalk, in Champions League followed by Europa with the Shamrock
Rovers, Cork City and Derry City, all of these squad’s matches for next week
with a new schedule.
As the Shamrock
Rovers, league match against Sligo Rovers to play on July 2nd.
The Hoops currently
are on a positive streak and riding high on their momentum in league play with
back to back wins and now they are
embarked in their greatest of challenges once again the Europa league and
looking forward to a successful run.
All the right moves
is what manager Bradley showed off today with a raucous win at home, as the
moves of James Doona and Aaron Bolger were on target as these two contributed
today for the win.
Looking good as they
are getting their rhythm back with a nice win and looking ready to play whoever
they may face off in the upcoming months as well looking forward to a stellar
campaign not seen in Tallaght for quite some time.
Indeed, Europa is on
the Shamrock Rovers thoughts for quite a while, at the end, their man goal is
to perform and deliver as the way the Dundalk squad did last in its last
edition.
Good luck on your
Icelandic adventure Hoops!
