A hard task ahead for the Republic of Ireland next manager

In spite of the success and the way former manager Martin O’ Neill, the number of feats achieved opened a new chapter in the national team made us dream of seeing a formidable tenure under his mandate with the Boys in Green.

However, the latest round of negative results and the way some players were looking uncomfortable in their positions and not displaying the game these are accustomed, the end was inevitable for the man from the Northern part of the Emerald Isle.

Now after his resignation the Green Army is looking for its fourteenth man to take over the destinies of the Republic of Ireland national team and the number of candidates touted for the job numbered more than five.

Ending the drama, now the federations directives will be on the task of selecting the next operate that will take the reins of this squad and return the lost confidence of the majority of its players that have shown recently.

As the number of candidates mentioned to take over, some of them immediately disqualified themselves of taking over the job, as current Brighton, Hove and Albion manager Chris Houghton not interested.

With names in current league of Ireland in Stephen Kenny as a font runner but shadow by Mike McCarthy seen as the ideal replacement, but other names have come up in Sam Allardyce, Steve Bruce and Brendan Rodgers.

As other headlines speak about Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola interest in managing a national team, the thought of seeing this man taking over the job is just our imagination, as the man would like to take over a big name team.

As the likes of McCarthy will be coming to Dublin Town to hold talks about the open position, maybe an agreement is to take place but in the end, the new man in the helm will have his hands full with a broken squad in need of urgent repair.

The first order of business is to create a more united group, return of confidence and give this squad that lost dynamism, the players to be comfortable in their positons and utilize a less difficult set of tactics.

In addition of seeing the promotion of young players and give the opportunity to Airtricity players can be a highlight in the new man that will take over the Republic of Ireland job, still the need to improve and set new challenges and goals is necessary.

Under Martin O’ Neill, this squad performed under pressure and delivered grand wins over squads of the likes of Italy and Germany in matches considered vital, adding the spice that the North Ireland man ran out of that magical touch.

In the end, whomever the federation decides to award the positon will be for one amazing challenge and hopefully the changes implemented can for sure uplift this squad spirits and continue making a number of important achievements.
