Burnley 2, Newcastle United 2
Turf Moor, Burnley
Newcastle United made it three wins in a row with a notable win over a troublesome Burnley that not even at home they cannot register a win and with an own goal by Ben Mee suddenly the Clarets are displaying a poor football.
Still the overall winner were the Magpies with a little help from its friends as that OG that led them to another win and seeing an all-around revival for the lads managed by Rafael Benitez displaying his old magic.
So far, this streak is putting a distance from the infamous relegation spots that the Geordies held in the beginning of the campaign with an odd streak since the start of Premiership, but these chaps can overcome.
As the game sentenced in the first half by the visiting Toon Boys when a shoot deflected by Ben Mee in the 4’ minute after a failed clearance, no later in the 23’ minute once again Ciaran Clark making a show and scoring the go ahead for the Magpies.
The second half in play and sudden emergence from the local Clarets a nice one two combination, when a pass from Ben Mee to Sam Vokes in the 40’ minute beating his defender to get Burnley close in the scoreboard.
However, the Geordies did sustain the pressure from the locals after several tries and one clear chance of tying this one but Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka opportune hand denied the equalizer for the home team.
For the visiting Newcastle, side was enduring the pressure and sustaining many arrivals from the home side but in the end, they prevailed with a nice piece in their defense doing the job until the end to net a valuable win.
Still the Magpies had the opportunity to extend their lead until that horrible miss by Matt Richie err that in the end could been the cushion goal but his team in the end came ahead as the overall winners.
Now the question stands if Rafael Benitez will extend his stay in the Toon with a Mike Ashley gesture of opening his wallet in this winter transfer market netting key players that can motivate the Spaniard to a long stay in Tyne- Daly.
For Ashley the club chairperson and owner results and a stay with a notable finish in the end of the campaign will be an encouraging sign for him to open up his wallet and offer Benitez a lengthy contract along with a prolific pay.
The win gives the Magpies 12 points and moving to 13th place contrary to Burnley opposite of their last campaign surge now the specter of relegation will haunt Sean Dyche and company if these wont leveled their campaign on time.
