Tottenham 3, Chelsea 1

The return of Premiership highlighted a contested London Derby between the Tottenham Hotspurs an undefeated Chelsea Blues looking forward to net those bragging rights of who rules supreme in this competition.

In spite of this contest, the Lilywhites manager Maurico Pochettino in the course of the week expressed the advantage of Chelsea not being in Champions League contrary to his squad overworked scheduled.

However, the Spurs being the hosts in the cathedral of soccer Wembley Stadium and to a whopping crowd of 55, 465 in attendance not sold out but still these fortunate fans from both sides treated to a gem of match.

With the Hotspurs top guns opportune scores that brought the Pensioners perfect run in the campaign to an abrupt halt and putting their man in the helm Maurizio Sarri to start thinking of a possible plan B.

Still this match proved that these Spurs are ready for primetime and with Poche in the helm; in every campaign despite the league competition stepping up, this squad is looking everyday as one day to headline this association.

For the man from Argentina putting on a formidable set of strategies and against a maestro in his Chelsea counterpart, manager Pochettino sent a 4-1-2-1-2 formation to counter a more dynamic and offensive prone 4-3-3 from the visitors.

As visiting manager seeing his top playmaker in Jorginho dominated and annulated in the game his Brazilian midfielder is comfortable with and in the end taken by Son and exposing his defending as a weakling.

With sheer inspiration and initiative taken by the Spurs initial eleven playing and exposing their best game ever, this in the end contributed to a one of a kind win and booster in the course of the campaign by stopping what looked an unbeatable squad.

The readiness put in display by the local Spurs were the game changer with an opportune Christian Eriksen double set of assists to Dele Alli and later to Harry Kane to begin a bright offensive display that culminated with a notable win.

After taking, a free kick and finding a well-placed Alli that with a header opened the deadlock with just eight minutes of this match and punishing their cross-town foes once again in these competitions.

In addition, of seeing a formidable defensive game and with Poche compatriot in defense and last week hero in Juan Foyth almost commuting what seemed a clear penal after tripping over Eden Hazard but the ref denied such protests from Sarri and the Belgian.

Once again, Christian Eriksen the Dane making his presence felt when passing to Harry Kane and this lad making a show of why he is considered among the greats when he send a shoot outside the area and beating the Blues keeper Kepa in the 16’ minute.

As the main treat was being, save for last when Spurs Son Heung- Min scored the go ahead in an individual effort and sealing the deal in the 54’ minute to uplift his squad with the win, despite a late consolation goal by Oliver Giroud in 85’ minute.
